Didn't even do that. Unplugged some wiring harnesses to get them out of the way, laid some cardboard over the gas tank and stitched them in.

 

Just figured it would make a bit more room to work. Helped when I did shackle flip and shock relocate.

 

True, in all fairness I chopped the factory spare mount and had it on a lift which gave plenty of room to work.

Im assuming the "relief hole" version is the one for a HC bumper that bolts to the frame so you can access the bolts?
