why are these so cheap?

How come the steel braided brake lines from wheelers, , are so much cheaper than all the other braided lines iv been looking at?? the other ones are all anywhere from $115-150? Is there a catch or should i pull the trigger on these bad boys?

go for it. they are actually the goodridge g-stop brake lines. i hve the set from wheelers on my truck.....zero probs with them.

do front brake lines make a difference? wheelers only has rear brake lines.

Are you only using the rear lines or did you find front ones as well? is there even front lines!?!

 

the front brake line set at wheelers is $72.50.....but you should get a tw discount for everything you get there as long as you mention us. when i got my rears...i got my fronts as well. the rear is just one single line. there are 2 for the front.

 

I could be missing something here, but to me they appear to be 'cheap' because it's only for the rear brake LINE (not lines, only a single flexible line in the rear). Yes, there are front lines, two of them, one for each wheel. Most of the brake lines on your truck are rigid lines, but anywhere motion is necessary (rear axle, and front axles) you have flexible rubber lines that can be replaced with braided stainless.

I got a full set (3 lines) of Goodridge G-Stop braided on Amazon.com for just under $84 shipped to my door - cheaper than I could find anywhere else online. If you're going to replace the rear brake line with braided you might as well go ahead and do the front. You wouldn't only replace 1, 2, or 3 tires, would you?

The front ones are on the same page as the link you posted above. Looks like they're $72.50 for a pair. On a side note, the lines you got/are getting from Wheelers are teflon coated in addition to being braided SS. The lines I referenced purchasing from Amazon.com were not teflon coated.

Not sure what your experience is with this sort of thing, but you'll definitely want to get your hands on a 10mm flare nut wrench before starting this job.
