I think I've been told that the super charger needs to be dealer service every one hundred thousand miles... I just had mine done last month. Since the smaller pulley turns the supercharger faster does it need service more often? just wondering.

$100 for red, or $150 for a black one that just says 3.0 on it to fool the oil jockeys at the dealer

I would not wait 100k miles to service it. I'll probably be doing mine every 30-50k miles just to keep fresh oil in there and make sure nothing is over wearing. Maybe its overkill, but I bolted a $5000 part to a $35000 truck that has the possibility of causing catastrophic failure, I'm gonna go ahead and make sure nothing can go wrong that I can.

Now there's a good attitude, nothing wrong with more preventative maintenance at all.

now I just need to find someone who can help me install a pulley.

It does make the supercharger way more fun. Compared to the $5k for the charger, the extra boost for $150 is a no-brainer.

I installed my 2.85 "stealth" pulley today on my recently purchased magnuson.
    Pretty easy.
This is a great write up. Just a couple side notes from my experience.
Worked on it in the morning when truck was cold.
•I was able to access the belt tensioner fairly easy by using a 1/2 drive ratchet and reaching my left arm down between the wiper fluid & the radiator shroud. THEN UNDER THE FAN. Was able to free tension with my left hand while at the same time freeing the belt from the S/C pulley with my right hand. (Saved some time vs removing skid plate and crawling underneath)
•when removing original pulley with the puller, the pulley will appear not to be moving then may suddenly pop a bit. After the pop it had moved maybe a 16th of an inch then came off fairly easy. I did not use a strap to hold the pulley, I just used a wrench to hold the puller from scaring the supercharger housing as I was cranking on it. (I purchased a puller at NAPA auto $36 5ton)
•The paint on the stealth pulley softens up in the oven so be careful! I had it in there for maybe 10 mins at 280. The paint was sticky. Cooled and was fine but you could skuff the thing up good if you aren't cautious.
•The tool from URD worked great, I applied grease to all parts of the tool except the black Allen screw that screws to the tool & the charger. Screwed it in the tool 1/2 way as stated in the directions & wrenched away. Install the pulley when it's hot as stated in directions. It's a an effort to get the pulley all the way on but not a big deal just keep going till it stops & flush!

Installing my 255 fuel pump kit tomorrow.
Oh and yes the power increase is definitely noticeable!
    Cheers

Have anyone used Freeze Spray to the shaft? Should help a lot to freeze it properly. But is there any concerns?

I wouldn't bother honestly. Warming the pulley is more than enough. If you do it quickly enough it should slide right in with no issues

Tried and managed to install it. I boiled the pulley first and freezed the shaft. Went easily first 2/3, until stopped completely like it's all there. Started to remove the tool, but noticed it wasn't! Hurry to turn it more, luckily it went quite easily, just needed more torque.

The paint of the pulley is very soft after boiling, there is now "stamp" of the washer and the original glossy paint is now something stealth too, looks old.o_OIMG_3070.jpg

Encountered the same issue with the paint, while helping a friend install his pulley.
