I installed my bronze TRD skid plate last night. Got a chance to take a couple fast pics earlier today while I was at the gas station

I'm glad to see these, I ordered mine two weeks ago but I've been moving and haven't had a chance to install. I think they look great!

Does anyone have any experience with the sPOD systems? I'm pretty intrigued by their touchscreen version.... It would look good mounted in that left-side panel or above the vent on the left side. Plus, digital switching is pretty rad.

I did look into it at one point but due to the fact that the "switches" were only single function, I deemed that it wouldn't suit my needs. The multi functionality of the switchpros is what sold me. The added benefit of being able to control it's functions from my phone outside of the vehicle were some added "fluff" but cool and possibly useful none the less

Can you explain what you mean by, "only single function"?

They do have a bluetooth module in the spod but it's expensive and an add-on.

basically on and off.. Whereas the SP can run multiple functions from a single switch. For example, my BD S8 light bar has the amber backlight plus the regular LED function. With the sPod or traditional switches, to control them both I would need two switches or a single multiple position switch.

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, with the digital one, you can group switches, but I don't think it would be possible to control the S8.

That's super cool though about the S8 -- I didn't know it did that! I'd love to see some pictures.

yeah, pretty cool feature for both the S8 and SP. You can also make your lights strobe which is kind of neat.. All from a single switch. So you can truly run 8 separate accessories.

I haven't wired the lightbar yet because I was waiting to do it all once I got the OnyX6 and Switchpros... But I am impatient and will probably get it done this week, in which case I'll upload some pics.

Nice, sounds good! I was hesitant to get the s8 for my bumper order, but now that I know they do that....that's intriguing. Thanks for the info -- I might end up just designing and building a raspberry pi/odroid version of the sPOD. I like digitally controlling the lights, but I'm not in love with the 800 price tag.

800 bucks, yeah tough pill to swallow on that.. I've seen the S8 in action and it's a solid light. Unlike the Rigid Radiance line, the S8 is also very thin and low profile which makes mounting and concealment quite a bit easier.

Nice. I'm ordering a c4fab front bumper [full overlanding version] and they have a cutout for the s8, so it looks like the stars are pointing to baja designs.

Sounds good, looks like that's the one. Thanks for the info! I'm getting ready to order it -- just waiting for my suspension [icon stage 4 with total chaos UCAs] to come in and install it first.

Solid setup right there! Congrats. I have been very happy with my ICON stuff. You doing the install yourself? If so, let me know if you'd like any pointers. If you were in AZ I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.

Unless you were lookin to drive up here to WI, I think I'll be doing it at my girlfriends place -- her dad is a mechanic. I hear it's fairly straightforward though, it should be plug and play, yes?

It really is easy. Had mine installed in under 3 hours. Granted, I've done 12 or so 3rd gens now, but it's a pretty simple process. If you want to chat through PM I can give you the steps I usually follow as well as point out the time consuming aspects of the install.
