Pretty simple, most will have a post to wire to the + side of the battery. There will then be fused posts to tie in your accessories. Use the proper size fuse for the accessory you intend to use, proper size wire, and a switch rated for the amperage and you're good to go. At 4.5A you could use 18awg wire <10' or 14awg wire <15'

    There's no ground for it?

Also, is there a way of disconnecting the battery without losing odometer and radio memory? I hate when that happens.

No ground on most fuse blocks, + only. Depending on how your battery cables are configured you may be able to add onto the power side without unhooking it.

So as of now what's been recommended....

Grounded lights to grounded switch, power to an accessory fuse box, going to positive terminal with an in-line fuse... this is way more complicated than I'd originally planned.

If you use a simple inline fuse you don't need a whole fuse box.
