Gotta warn you, white 1st gens with pizza cutters are like pornography for me. Why the switch from a 2nd gen? I've done the same.

Why not? They're smaller (better for trails) and not as much electronic about them. Only issue really are the ball joints

I have a 100 mile/day commute. The truck gave me 90k miles of wonderful worry free service. I really enjoyed it. I decided I should get out while it was still valuable. So I did. Bought the 1st gen and a commuter car.

    No regrets.

Honestly, the only thing I don't like about this truck is the seats. Not gonna lie, they suck ass.

Something good seat covers might fix that. I know mine made my seats much more comfortable

Possible, but I doubt it. The dimensions, cushion, and lumbar support all suck.

You're just too big for the seat. I guess you'll have to stop lifting ....

I like everything about the 1st gens better, but I couldn't find a decent one locally with low miles and no sketchy mods. I bought a 2nd gen DCSB after a month of annoying vehicle shopping wore down my resolve. In retrospect I should have bought one online and had it shipped, rather than waste all those weekends. Eventually I found the perfect 1st gen configured exactly how I wanted, just a few miles from home. But no harm done. I sold the 2nd gen for damn near my purchase price even though I had it 4 years and put a nice chunk of money back in the bank where it belongs.

Replaced the vacuum switching valve last night. That was the most frustrating simple job I've done in a while. It's only one tiny bolt, and two pieces of rubber hose; all located conveniently under the intake manifold. Pretty neat. There was blood, and lots of cussing.

Drove her 50 miles to work this morning. No CEL. :fingerscrossed:
