    Alright guys had a few questions. I'm looking to get a new battery for the taco and i got about 42k and its been a little over 3 years. Have any of u guys switched out your battery?     I've usually just bought the store brand at the local parts store... no problems ever. Can't go wrong with Die Hard.

    Odyssey or Diehard platinum. I heard that the platinum is a rebranded odyssey battery.

    Btw, my stock battery died in 3 years time. I replaced it Diehard Gold 700. For unknown reasons, this battery dies every year. Good thing about them is the 3 year warranty. They replaced the battery twice already. So my last replacement will come this December 2010. So I guess I'll upgrade to the Platinum at that time.

    While I don't have any first hand experience with them yet, Optimas spiralcell battery technology has a lot of advantages. They offer lower internal resistance which gives you more power in a smaller battery box, the ability to recharge much faster, plus higher, cleaner voltage characteristics during discharge. They also typcially last longer. My next battery is going to be a gel battery.

    Having a problem with corrosion on positive terminal. I clean it and its back in two weeks.'07 Tacos, right at three years old. Anyone else have this problem or a fix for it?

    I have used either Optima, Oddessy, or Orbitals. They all seemed like pretty good batteries. Currently, Im running an Optima Red Top in the Tacoma.

    The one in my truck now, I think only a few months....The OEM battery died just before the truck was 3 years old.

    DT Long Tube Headers, Empire O2 simulator, catback, Shrockworks Sliders, Old Man Emu 3" lift with 885 coils (with 1/2" top plate spacer and Dakar Leaf packs), Hi-lift mounted in bed with 4XRAC mounts, WT floor liners, other stuffs
    Could be a small leak in the battery casing. Take the cable off, clean it and the terminal with a wire brush, pour some baking soda & water on it to wash away any more corrosive bits and put it back together. When it's buttoned up spread some Vaseline (petroleum jelly) on the connection or go buy some kind of battery terminal protective spray.

    For a starting battery, you really can't go wrong with an Optima Red Top.

    Typical oem batteries will last about 3 yrs. Not sure why. I always have customers coming for batteries and notice that there originals so i usually sell them duralast or duralast gold. They're good batteries IMO, but theres always something better. We sell the optima batteries, but not a whole lotta people can afford them either. I think i have a walmart battery in my truck:confused:

    ^I've heard that Duralast are good batteries. Made by another company...can't remember...
