Sorry, not sure why you would want to put your key in there and close the lid. You could easily forget its in there.

The key fits between the coins fine, just the lid won't close all the way.

I leave my key fob in the truck all the time. I only take it out when I lock the truck out in public.

I've made some revisions to it, but hadn't had an opportunity to print a new one. Now that my printer is free, I can make some more progress on that as well.

As I'm experimenting with molds and resins, I'm optimistic that I will be able to fabricate a clear lid cover for the switch panel. That way you can protect them from accidentally being engaged and still see what is active and what is not. However, this lid will add to the overall height of the panel, so be aware this will not sit flush with the rest of the console.

as for the molds are concerned, I consulted with my mold master friends and have come up with game plan for making the cast versions. I'm shopping for materials at the moment and hope to be setup to cast all of the different designs this week.

I will continue to keep this thread updated with my progress.

Hit a few bumps in the road, had a friend come by to give me a hand. Spent the whole day working and the Molds are finally taking shape. The end result is looking very promising. More updates this week.

    Your patience is much appreciated.

After a few weeks of setbacks and learning from mistakes I'm finally back on track. Mold making and casting from molds is no cakewalk. I'm still fine tuning the process, but progress is on the horizon.

Here is a piece I cast late last night that I'm happy with. Had to implement a vacuum chamber to get it right. Gonna crank some more out tonight after work.

Note the many failed attempts on the table in the background. This one will ship on Monday with hopefully many others. The lid has proven to be more challenging than the rest, but I'm determined to get it right in the coming days.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
You know... Been thinking about this (and waiting for you to finished to ship mine - already paid), and I think I'd rather NOT have the lid. Can you update my order?

Would it be possible to have switches under the lid? It would protect the switches from getting spilled on or accidentally bumped into. Love the placement, just thought it would be cool to have this option among the other awesome options you already provide.

The plan is to make one with a custom transparent lid allowing the switches to be shown through. I already know how to do it, Just need to get the coin organizers moving before I move on to this.

Question for you: How big a hole are you willing to cut in this space? I ask because I can make the whole thing flush with the rest of the console, but the switch would require additional clearance underneath. This would mean you would have to cut a hole large enough to allow the switches to clear.
