I lifted mine so that people don't sleep at night, wondering why I did it. When you don't sleep at night, you're less productive the next day, allowing me to get further and further ahead. You see, lifting the truck is just one tiny piece of the puzzle I'm constructing to take over the world.

Rock crawling (needs more clearance) or mall crawling (looks)... you can differentiate by the wheel size/width usually :D.

And then there's suspension work for desert/go-fast stuff. The lift aspect of that is irrelevant or even detrimental as you're trying to optimize the following in order of priority:
    1. Maximum wheel travel
    2. Maximum tire size
    3. Lowest possible center of gravity

    Too few to list.
Most dealership lifts with spacers and charges an arm and a leg because they know there's always that one sucker who will buy it. There's only a few dealerships I know of that does proper lifts. Dealership below used Kings front and rear with Demello armor on a Pre-Runner and placed an $9k add on tag on the MSRP. At least they used the good stuff.

You'll find lots of people who try to justify it by all manner of reasoning. The real reason it to look cool. I've been driving 4X4's for a very long time and a stock truck with good tires and a skilled driver will go 90% of the places the lifted trucks will go. And most of the places they won't go are those hard places the lifted guys seek out to help justify the expense. I can usually get to point B from point A just like the lifted guys by driving around the bad stuff.

If someone is putting together a toy that is never intended to see pavement then go for it. But if it is something driven every day the negatives outweigh the positives.

I don't think the dealer did that work. They bought it used like that. We haven't built a bumper like that front one in YEARSSS.. Those wheels are old school TRD wheels I believe, kinda prone to cracking. I believe I remember doing this install in Santa Ana shop which would have been at least 8-9 years ago. Very cool find!

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Wanted to do some off roading/off the beaten path camping with mine. Plus, I learned the after market lifts feel way better than OEM.

This is a dealership down the street from me - Norwalk Toyota. This was new in 2009. Back then, Tacoma's had a $1K rebate. Superb craftsmanship on your stuff!
