Question: wrecked Tacoma on Craigslist, he has Toyota backup camera with mirror monitor, asking $250 and he will have it removed. Should I jump on it? Figured I can get it down to $200 and local shop quoted me install would be about $150 and they also quoted me about $600 for the camera and mirror from them.

Not too bad a price. The mirrors are generally 150-200 and the camera and cables around 130. If the condition is good and you get all the cables then it's a decent deal. Just makes sure it's 100% working and all the parts are there. If not, then it will cost you a lot more trying to make it work.

F*** me. Diffs are shot. Bad pinion bearing, which led to bad carrier bearing which probably means my ring and pinion are shot.....This'll be expensive

If you still have your stock stereo I would do what I did (obviously because Im me) and replace stock stereo with new head unit that has back up camera. I paid 800 out the door installed, I know, ouch, but worrh it to me. I got a pioneer AVH with DVD, bluetooth, microphone for handfree phone and back up camera. I absolutely love it.

I agree, and I've also got a Pioneer head unit. However it only cost me a few hundred and a couple hours to install it myself. That includes the cost of all parts.

I've already replaced the stock with a Kenwood head unit but it doesn't have the monitor.

Looks like it's time for an AAL or new pack. Brap!
Steel for sure if you have the suspension for it.

I think he was referring to you going over and posting in the correct thread.
