I love it. I declared it "our" car when she bought it.

VWs are extremely expensive to own. High quality initially then it drops off quick. Lease them if you can.

We had a 2014. Very very fun car to drive. We also had an '07 IS 350. The build quality on the 07 was better. The 14 had more gadgets and looked better, but it felt cheap.

Not trying to hate on VW/Audi. Their AWD system performs great, to easily rival Subaru and Mitsubishi. They don't have the sheer power to compete for speed right off hand though. I have a 2000 VW Jetta with 2.0 gas NA engine. I paid $750 for a water pump and serpentine belt. The car is at 156000 miles now. I've had several other issues with it too. I meant to get rid of it a few years ago, but never did. It has been useful since my Tacoma was wrecked, giving me something to drive. My youngest brother is a huge Audi fanatic, and he told me that the engineering on these cars is so smart that it's stupid. Audis are very much 5 year cars, get them new and don't keep them more than 5 years. I drove a S8 not too long ago with the v10 and automatic. I got up to 145 in a hurry and it had way more to give than I had time to abuse. They are expensive to do any work on, and start having bigger issues as you keep them longer

I think we paid about 32 for it. It is a 2014 and it had like 35k on it. She wanted to replace her WRX that got totaled and this was about the same or a little less than a new WRX which she didnt like the looks of.

Dark grey/white. Looked for black/red for a while but apparently that combo is pretty rare. Looks nasty tho

What is the southern most airport in Washington? Was planning on landing in Portland and driving down to Medford, but would like to do Washington as well since I'll be that close.

On the German front, I would also avoid BMW because they use fasteners in a lot of places that require proprietary tools, which pushes you to go back to a dealership for everything. I am not a big fan of most Mercedes vehicles by outward appearances, but that's just me.

Porsche certainly has their quirks as well. I have heard from a couple friends that the most reliable Porsches are Boxster and Cayman. Cayman is essentially a modified Boxster with larger engine pushing 300+ hp, and it can take some serious turns

PDX is just across the river from WA. Depending on traffic 10-15 minutes.

I think in tricities area, but that puts you east of everything by a long ways as well. There may be an airport in Vancouver, but that would be small. Otherwise, Seatac is the major airport, about 3-4 hours north of Portland.
