Why is it so hard to find workers? Structural test are pretty much easy. Unless the QC's just want absolute perfection on every weld

Those of us that are working for the most enjoy what we are doing .

People are lazy call off for a paper cut or to give the dog a bath Don`t feel like getting out of bed at 0 dark thirty

Some how fail the drug test or back ground checks

I know That Morgan Truck Body and Great Dane Trailers are looking for quite a lot of people

Sad fact we have 5 Gas fired power plants within 3 hours being built

Granted some are still looking for the $100,000.00 a year to start while getting Food Stamps .

Pretty much every one who wants to work is it seems

Dang that's crazy. I'm struggling to stay busy down here at times. fuck, this job is SC pay rate is actually pretty low for traveling but do what you gotta do to pay the bills. It's supposed to be a 3+ year job so maybe il hangout a year and just keep migrating north if the work and money is right.

New Lincoln Precision Tig 275 out of the box does not like the thumb remote lead inside the torch protective cover

The High Frequency when welding in AC caused to much interference to adjust output .

Working fine in DC because High Frequency is start only

As soon as the remote lead was removed from the cover to inspect the lead things started working like they should

 from 10 hours of orientation and safety training. We go on site to start weld testing tomorrow and should be on site till Friday. Then back in the office for training for another week lol.

All I can say is... They are picky as hell with nuclear stuff. Coal plants are a vacation compared to this

Test has started. 3g and 4g 1" plates 3/8 gap and 3/8 backing strap. 6 hours to finish both. Once they look at my root pass, I'm free to burn all the way up to the cap.

Got a bunch of rejects already lol.

It does suck. Just knowing I'm capable of passing the test but letting nerves rush me and mess me up is what sucks the most tho. I've passed this same test a thousand times before. It shouldve been a walk in the park.

22 yrs old. My age is part of the reason why I get so nervous. I intimidate myself and stress little things and forget the basics.

I don't smoke or mess with any drugs but I swear I'd be a jam up welder if I smoked a joint before welding lol.

I just basically get in a hurry and worry about the little shit. Like today. Ive burned backing strap test for a year straight in school. It's all we did. Never had a problem at all. Never failed a bend.

Well for some reason i got nervous today about burning through the strap. And it made me forget about the sides. So I rushed when I shouldnt have.

I'm literally my own worst enemy.

Well what kind of insight buying new you have a 3 year warranty on the machine but not the consumables.

You can down load the owners manual read through see if it will work for your needs .

Not a bad little Inverter based welder

I would only use .023 hard wire.

buying a used one make sure you have output and control through the entire range .

A new line of machines possible some bugs might show up with some time

    Good deal.

Just remember, there is a documented shortage of skill laborers. There is even a more shortage of skilled laborers that can pass the drug test.

I'm betting there is someone hoping you pass the next go around. Interviewing potential new hires is almost as bad as interviewing to get hired. They know you didn't miss by much.

    Good luck.

Do you wear earplugs when you weld??

I find they really helped me focus way back when now they are pretty much a given.

I think you will get it this next time
