Did you remove the little baby flap in front of the tire? If not, I'm 99% that taking them off will solve your rubbing.

I believe it's supposed to help with aerodynamics somehow.

I think it was for fuel economy. Like the beginning of that ugly air damn they put on the turd gens.

Are you talking about the thin flap in the well next to the engine? I'm pretty sure that wasn't rubbing, I think it's the same spot behind the wheel that was rubbing with my splash guards, but I'll check again.

No. If you're looking at your tire, the mud flap is towards the rear of the vehicle. To the front of the vehicle, there's a mini "mud flap" that's maybe 3x4". It's held on by two bolts. If yours are on, that's your source of rubbing.

It's #6 in this diagram. Toyota calls it an "Extension Insert"

Yeah I'm not seeing that at all, they must have been removed by the previous owner I guess. But now I've also noticed a rubbing spot on the front on the #4 piece from your diagram.

The instructions call for the X-out for this reason. They have a you tube video. I spent more time watching that than installing honestly...

You could probably add some 3M velcro around the cutout to keep it from falling down.

Interesting. My front left has been rubbing on full lock since I changed to KO2's and I have been wondering where. Now i know where to look.

Hmm, well that sucks. I don't really know what to tell you then! If it rubs somewhere, better chop that shit out of the way. It's only plastic after all. Are you running aftermarket wheels? If they stick out really far, that's not helping you any.

Yeah I have SCS F5's. Oh well, the rubbing was never even really that bad to begin with, and it's only when they are fully turned. But I guess I'll have to trim some stuff eventually since I have no idea when I might be getting a bumper.

    Thanks for your help.

The Taco got lots of love today. I got new OME leaf packs and extended stainless steel brake lines (rear) installed. While I had it on the lift I got the driveline lubed up, rotated the tires and did an oil change. If it wasn't so late (and I wasn't so tired) she would have gotten washed too! :)

Figured out my sr5 model is wired for the e locker that I bought off another member just need the 4wd controller and a harness and I think I'm good to go.

The plug for the harness is behind the driver's side kick panel. It's behind the wires in the photo but you can see where it is. The plug for the switch was right up there next to the fog light harness.
