I can only imagine how terrifying that was. I was only on a small 2 lane road no faster than 40. At freeway speeds i woulda shat my pants. Glad you're okay though.

Hit a deer with my 2016 in the exact same spot. Looks like you have a bit more damage in the hood and head light region but overall pretty similar. Hit the deer going 70 MPH. Total bill was around $5400 for repairs (obviously covered by insurance).

Glad to hear you all are ok. A little late, but I'd buy a deer whistle and mount it somewhere. Cheap insurance and
    I hear they work well.

Do the deer whistles actually work?

Deer whistles are a waste of your money. Even if a deer reacts to your whistle, there is no
way to determine the direction the deer will bolt in reaction to your car. Read the following
    article - http://www.deeranddeerhunting.com/articles/how-effective-are-deer-whistles. If
you by chance do purchase the deer deterrent whistles, how do you verify the frequency
they emit and whether a deer actually hears that frequency. Buy a beer instead, and practice
honking your horn while crossing your fingers!:infantry:

Just got through talking to the body shop and they said the estimate is $5,401.68 as long as there is nothing major wrong. Hopefully, I should have it back Friday. Keeping fingers crossed.

Some say yes, some say no. I've never tried them myself, so I can't help. But
    they aren't too expensive.

Sorry about your truck OP but I'm glad that you and your wife are okay. We have loads of deer in Southern Maryland and I drive mainly in the dark. Every year I debate putting on a steel bumper.

I should put one on but I have not found any that I like, yet.

I'm a little confused with all the information, some of it sounds good while others sound like they are trying to sell me something that is useless. I guess what couldn't hurt, spend ~$7.00 and see if it helps.
