I got a set of used nitros and 882 coils that I'm going to install this week.

I plan to get dakars and nitros for the back from headstrong off-road later on.

Myride quality isn't that bad compared to spacers but just a little rougher than what I'd like

My truck has a full OME kit on w 881's and the ride is relatively rough. I have no armor / weight. I should note that this is the first time I've had a lifted truck. I like the truck even with the stiff ride.

    Pretty much stock
Planning to get an OME kit on my stock 2001 Tacoma. If I'm not going for lots of lift, do I really top spacers? I don't want any rake either... Also, am I going to need to do anything with the exhaust or brake lines?

If you don't want any rake but want an entirely new leaf pack, I'd suggest either getting Wheelers Offroad 5 leaf springs that give 1.5" of lift or if you get OME Dakar springs, remove the upper overload leaf as well as the 3rd leaf from the top of the pack to give you closer to 1.5-2.0" of lift. Either of these paired with 881's or 882's will be close to level, especially the 882's on a V6 4WD.

You may want to get an extended rear brake line depending on how much lift you end up with in the rear; the front lines will be fine. With the OME leafs, some people have said that they need the exhaust hanger extension to prevent rubbing. Others just cut the tail pipe so that it dumps just behind the rear axle.

Lot's of varying setups so far. I ordered the OME Kit for my 95.5 with 882 coils. What is the max tire size i can run without rubbing without hammering, no mods other than bolting them on? I am running 16" '99 4Runner wheels to clear the bigger brake calipers. TIA

THanks for correcting me. I've never run them myself so I'm glad you fixed what I said

Do you plan to take it off road where you'll be flexing the suspension?

Adding lift alone does not guarantee you'll be able to fit tires larger that 32" in diameter. And if you are only going to the mall (and avoiding the speed bumps) then you can run 32s without any lift.

    265/75r16 = 32s

I mainly use my 70 Series Land Cruiser for off road use but I will most likely take it out a time or two. I understand what you are saying about flex and why I was hoping to hear from some of the uys actually running them and their experiences. Even without the true off road I will be hitting some rough construction sites and shooting/hunting areas with it.

Will 235/85/16 work on stock Taco?

    Yes.

Will you have to do any trimming/beating? I have no clue. Maybe someone here can tell you more. It's a narrow tire, so I think it would be fine.

I just put nitros and 882's I got off a member on my truck. The lift is way higher than I thought. I will probably get a bumper (trail gear) a little down the road. My biggest concern is if I need new UCA's or not. The truck seems to ride fine other than being a little stiff and drive great.

On one of my other trucks, I ran that same set up in the front with the stock UCA's for about 5 years before I sold it. I had no problems

Good to know. I'll probably run the stock ones until I can afford other ones. Right now everything feels fine it doesn't pull or anything.

Can I use OME nitro rear shocks with stock leaf springs or will they bottom out? Wheelers seems to think my leaves are fine since they are still straight. Thanks again for the info
