I'm lifting my truck this weekend and got my OME parts in [9000+885's, AAL]. Regarding the top spacer to bring the front up to a full 3", I've heard 6mm and 10mm spacers? Which do you need? Would the 4mm diff really make that much of a difference? (i.e. I have a set of 6mm already )

Also, should I install the 5mm trim into the drivers side strut? I've heard you should to correct "taco lean" although I haven't noticed any lean...opinions?

the bigger one goes on the drivers side to compensate for the "taco lean" the weight of the driver and the gas tank making the truck uneven

When you say you haven't noticed any lean....Did you measure that or just eye ball it?? Cause I didn't notice it on mine either- but the measurements showed different. I would install the trim packer (in between the shock and the spring cup-drivers side only).

6mm should get you mighty close to 3 inches. Mine with no spacer is about 2.2 inches total....and a 6mm spacer would get that closer to 2.8ish.

I'm no dummy by any means but this one makes no sense to my logical brain...what do you think?

[email fr me to vendor who sold me the .25" top plate]
This is going to sound like a stupid question I'm sure, but how does a 0.25" spacer give 0.5" lift?

    [email response from vendor]
The lift ratio on your Toyota is a 2:1. With independent suspension you do not have a lift ratio like the 1:1 of a straight axel. The spacer pushes the strut down. When you strut pushes the center of the control arm down, the outside of the hub moves down twice the amount that the spacer measures.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but if you can't look at a lifted truck and tell there is a lean. Then why would you care about 6-8 mm of height difference in the front?

We are talking about a little over 1/3 of an inch.

    |__| <<<that's about the difference right?

I couldn't see it on my stock setup- but when I measured it there was surely a difference. I would care because it can be- It's suspposed to be level.
And with the trim packer you are talking about .19 inches....not .33333.

Plus- People eyeball shit all the time....Doesn't mean it's right.
