    Hello all,

Just two questions regarding my 2007 Access Cab before I bring it in for it's first service. It is a TRD Offroad with the tow package. Stock. 30K miles.

Two things are happening with it that I will have the dealership look at :

1.) The driver side rear is sitting about 3/4" lower than the passenger side rear based on distance from the fender lip to the top of the tire. So something is sagging, I'm assuming. Could the leafs already be giving out?

2.) This one's a bit more vague. Coming from a complete stop... rolling forward slowly and re-engaging the brakes (i.e. slow traffic or in say a drive-thru) there is a "click" just as the brakes re-engage. My guess is something is shifting or moving.

Any ideas would be beyond helpful! Thanks everyone.

    Ben

It's the infamous Toyota lean. It's normal, and it happens to almost all of our trucks. The only real fix for it is to put a spacer in it (I believe it was 1-1.5") The majority of the weight is distributed driver's side on the truck. Gas tank, driver, battery is all on that side while there's really nothing to balance the pass side, unless you got a 400lb friend you bring everywhere.

Again, this is normal for the automatics. What's happening is the transmission is downshifting back to first. When it does this, you get a boatload of torque that lurches the vehicle forward. Over time I just learned to hold the brake down harder than I normally would to compensate, I don't even really notice it these days now. It does seem kinda weird it's so lagged for downshift... but that's just how it behaves.

Actually, the service dept said it was the pads shifting in the front calipers? Sound right?

I have the same truck minus TRD, mine has done it since day 1. The dealer told me its the pads shifting in the caliper, it only does it when i first get in it. I dont think its much to worry about.
