Where I live a store carries a portable garage shelters. They come in different sizes. That's something you could look into

Got a Harbor Freight nearby? Might be worth looking and seeing what they have

another option might be a carport off the side of the garage, I'll have to ask the city if they would allow it. The only other way to get around the rules would be to put a "living space" in the shop I want to build on my other lot because then it's not considered a garage. I really don't want to pay for sewer hook up and all of that though.

The ones that are sold here are a temp garage so they can be taken down, and no evidence that they're there. They come in a box. They're a trap type shelter

I ordered a bunch of extras with it like a 1 micron air filtration unit with an auto drain for water, also upgraded to 50' work lead and torch and an extra consumables kit plus a cover. All in shipped it was $2205. You can pick one up with just the power supply for around $1600. It is a lot cheaper to upgrade everything up front instead of later on down the road though.

Honestly I have made no progress the last few weeks. I will keep you guys updated and I am going to try to push myself to finish it soon.
It pretty much comes down to I've been working a lot and the weather has been very inconvenient whenever I have off. I was going to work on it yesterday but I smashed my finger pretty good and wanted to give it a few days to heal before I chance busting it open again.image.jpgI will get out there and make progress soon and you guys will be the first to know about it.

I've had a lot worse though, about five years ago I had two fingers smashed off and had to get surgery to half ass put them back on. But that was a work accident.

Yea the job I have is pretty dangerous, about a half of the guys that have been around awhile are missing at least one finger tip. It's not as bad as it used to be but its still an iron foundry lots of things that could go wrong.

On the maintenance side any way regular production work is all super over engineered towards safety. We always put safety first but things happen.
