I didn't find any graphs comparing to Europe, just plenty of articles with the actual numbers sprinkled throughout and all say that there is no comparison, US is always outrageously priced. The closest you'll get to anywhere else is the US being 100% more.

The reason there is such a thing as medical tourism is you can spend that $10k out of pocket instead of your deductible, being treated like a number in a cold dark hospital, or you could feel like your on vacation at a high end all inclusive resort where the only negatives are the biased made up dangers created by the people wherever you came from.

Yes there are just as many bad places, but thinking that you're 100% safe going to a hospital anywhere isn't realistic. An estimated 250,000 people die from medical malpractice each year... In the US. That's half of the number who die from cancer each year... Where's the outcry for that?

People have to sell everything they own and move overseas to get proven medical treatments for many different things including cancer because we don't offer it here... If anyone thinks that's far from ordinary, look at marijuana. It's still scheduled as having zero medicinal use when it is the only thing to work for so many issues.

Of course, it's all connected to everything from big pharma who owns politicians, scientists who can't put out honest findings in fear of losing their credibility, lawyers, insurance companies... it's a system for money, not health.

I was down hoping to catch the mail delivery human, parked off the main roadway on the atv, looking in the mailbox (no delivery yet even though the last two times stuff came by 1), and this car slowed down, stopped in the road about 200 feet from me for a good 45 seconds...i looked behind me thinking there might be Godzilla, or @sean266 flexing, but there was nothing... Then they drove past. Wtf people.

Still no seat heaters, and since i have to start heading to the airport in a few hours, no rush to get them now. Thanks USPS for not doing your one job. I could've at least put in my side heater. :p

The ratio of patients seen/serviced and how many malpractice issues occur is most likely higher in third world countries and that ratio is what matters. Hospitals these days are very different then 10-15 years ago ever since the ACA changed how hospitals are compensated.

Also don't mention you have almost zero legal recourse if something does go wrong in another country. But don't let me spoil your conspiracy mindset.

If you want to blame someone or something for the path of western medicine then look no further then ourselves. Pharma gets a bad rap until someone needs a drug. High blood pressure and diabetes are some of the most common diseases I've seen, both for the most part are preventable with non-phamacologic means but that means working out and eating better. Most people either can't or won't do that but then it's not their fault, people love to blame big pharma's for making some money on people's lack of discipline and poor eating habits. Not all big pharma companies are good but the few bad ones give the others a bad rap.

If you want to know the true evil is the insurance companies. They single-handedly dictate care for almost every patient and pretty much cause worse outcomes for patients due to restrictions on care and procedures. But since people have a serious fear of a single-payer health system we're stuck with shitty insurance companies instead and good luck if you actually get a serious disease.

Oh i know people are a huge part of the issue... I shake my head at the stupid "make life easy" inventions that then end up making tons of money.

And the only conspiracy I believe in is money/profit being more important than common sense which is the root cause of all the issues.

You'll have about 2,000,000 years and at that time the sun will have become a red giant which rapidly expand due to changing fusion materials and the border of the sun will be past the orbit of Earth which will be consumed by the then enlarged star.

I'm full of useless information :D

There'd probably be some pretty cool stuff to happen between now and when the earth is consumed.

Actually, it's political. But maybe all that will come to an end now. No more fucking trophies.
