What are you trying to accomplish? Do you have an AAL too?

No they are the full leaf Dakar pack but I don't want the full 2.75" of lift I only want 2" as my shackle flip is going to add 1/2 -3/4"

If you pull the second overload (the one without retaining brackets), you'll lose .5 right at the axle, but also some load capacity for very heavy loads. I can't recall which of the regular leafs you can pull without looking it up. Not sure how much that will reduce your lift.

Oh, just found this, because you're lazy and I'm not. OZ knows his Daks

But you can still pull that overload if you aren't loading 5000 lb beams like he does.

My cap adds 150 or so right off the bat. +30 lb bet mat, tool kit...it all starts adds up pretty quickly.

I'm doing the AAL and pulling the overload to make room for 3* shims but also still retain good capacity for heavy bed loads while towing a light load.

More shit then I ever planned on doing
Mine started out at 2-3/4 but are now at 2-1/4 maybe less after running my RTT and bed rack (+/- 255lbs) last season.

Whats the benefit of pulling the overload and installing the AAL?

    A few things
I would say install it whole, let it settle, then adjust from there.

I would but I don't want to be that much rake since the shackle flip is an additional 3/4"

Agree, they will settle. I left my AAL off thinking it's gonna be too much but now that they settled I need to pull them off and add it.
