I've been asked to apply for (offered) manager/supervisor positions here...I've turned them down 4 times now. The money isn't worth the stress. Comes down to needs versus wants. If you look at it honestly, you find a lot of what you once thought were needs are actually wants. As long as my wife is happy, I get to hunt and fish enough to keep the freezer stocked, and we can afford to visit the kids/grandkids a couple times a year ... life is good. ;)

Thanks, nice being back in the touch with you too. :)

    Long story short no.
I won't go into details however.

Toyota IMO stepped up big time.
They gave my boy a real good deal on the trans.
A trusted coworker replaced it for me. He did it for nothing but got compensated.

My shop was real good to me and my boy and I couldn't be happier.

He has been doing all his maintenance there and some services too.

But this is not unusual for my shop. If you commit to us we do for you.
Not everything is roses and gumdrops and we can't give stuff away like everybody wants.
It could have have been sooooooooo much worse. I can't thank Toyota, Pete, and Adam enough.

Jason came in and talked to the service manager then gave the tech a Cabella's gift card.

So I hope things can just back to normality.

I'm just south of Dallas. Yes, rain is needed here too, only problem I run into is that when we get the rain for days at a time it saturates my drain field and things don't want to work.

    Ok.
I'm in hill country south of you.
I know what ya mean. Fortunately my drain field is on slope downhill from house.
Try pop up clean out plugs. Keeps the poo from coming up in house.

I know stealership is a common word on TW but everytime I see it or hear it my heart hurts
A little. Makes me think I'm associated with being a thief. I can't change people's opinion. I have tried all my life. Years ago we were respected, trusted. We got Christmas gifts from customers.
I went in to work alone on a Sunday many years ago at another shop.I had the key. I put a transmission in a van because the family was going to leave on a trip on Monday. They were cancelling their plans. I knew where they lived and I had to do the road test and a just happened to drive by their house. The van just happened to turn In their driveway. The wife broke into tears when she saw the van. Next day, Monday morning, they left on their trip. The big boss was not happy cause if I had gotten hurt no one was around. Told me not to do it again.
    Yea. I'm a thief.

We try to head to the Hill Country at least once a year. Hit up Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and restock the wine supply.
No real issues with stuff coming back in, just doesn't want to flow out.

    Very Nice but yes sadly you do not hear about the good stuff done or handled by dealer ships that they didn't have to do only when people get ripped or really feel like they get ripped is what gets posted all over the place:{

Don't mean to offend ya Mike.
I worked at a Lincoln Mercury dealer when I was in my early 20s.
I've been screwed by our local dealer but I or we go back for the "loyalty" discount.
I used a book of free oil changes when I got my truck. After the last coupon used I went home and checked over truck. My factory skid was missing. I called up service Mgr and told them. He said maybe someone stole it while I was in walmart. That they don't do that and there's not an extra one laying around. Well I bought a pelfreybilt one and haven't used the service department there since. I try and do everything myself.
Now here I am as a plumber. I hear "thief" comments way more than I want to.

Hope I didn't rub ya wrong man.
