I have had a problem for years with the hands going numb ie asleep still have control of them just tingling based on position with out anything in my hands or with something . Over the last year it is has gotten to the point if I did not sleep with my arms almost straight one or the other would wake me up doing the I just hit my funny bone tingling. If it didn't wake me it would claw one hand or the other ie lock it into a claw shape for a few minutes when I woke up. It was diagnosed years ago as ulnar nerve palsy kind of a generic term what it means is the ulnar nerve ( the funny not so funny bone nerve) has moved from it's rightful place in a grove in the elbow to a slightly different address which causes it to become trapped under tendons or some such thing and tada positional numbness . It is the nature of the beast for using high vibration / impact tools . Impulse can tell you a 4x to 10 x rivet gun ( similar to air hammer but heavier blows and somewhat faster) takes some control and it puts out a lot of impacts in a short amount of time :} . I had the entertainment of working on RF4C ari craft which have MANY solid rivets and the engine bays are full of -5 and -10 monel steel rivets so unlike some airframes we used rivet guns A LOT ! My right hand has a burning sensation dead center at the base of the palm after a while of holding anything which I can live with no worries but Dr says it will become permanent the older I get sigh getting old is not for the weak lol. So if they fix the left side when they get to the right side they will do the elbow and go do carpal tunnel repairs to the wrist. So hell when I get the right knee done knee ortho guy is haranguing me about it lol I think he needs some thing new for his sailboat:} . I will be good as new :} . My Va rep ( saw her yesterday) is suggesting... along with my GF .... I put in for 100% and take early retirement and be done I do not think either one realizes I am not the sit down and watch tv type. Well the GF knows she threatens to higher a sitter all the time :} .

These are my shops at home does anyone here really think you could just put all this down and do nothing ?? If you look you will see metal working equipment which I love to do , along with a broken down 3/4 hp grinder from 1961 I refurb old equipment for my use and to flip occasionally. The drill press next to the skid is from 1940s it is in line to get refurbed along with some other equipment back there power hacksaw etc. I also like to put holes in paper from a distance :}, bike ride and go camping and canoeing so yeah not really the sit on the couch and vegetate kind of guy. All most all of the above is apparently not good for me to be doing. My opinion screw it I will continue to enjoy what I do and make the doctors keep wiring me back together when issues prevent me from doing things I like to do !!

I'm jealous. my garage is trashed. Never in my life has it been as trashed as it is now.

I'll trade with ya. Your nerve damage for my ear ringing. Sounds like summer locust swarm in my head.

Nah got that IE jet engines and rivet guns to be brutally honest if you read my medical records but did not meet me you would wonder why I am not already on a couch. lol Part of the joint issues they think are Desert service in the first edition sand box.

I almost don't want to post pic of my garage. To think I used to park my truck in there.
