Do 5100s again? Or something new?

Ok so I was running 5100s all around on my 06 that I traded in for my 2010. I wanna put a lift on the new truck but I'm wondering if I should do something else this time. I had my 5100s set at 2.5 with an aal in the rear an I liked the look and didn't mind the stiffness. But I only had it like that for alittle over a year and I'm wondering how a setup like that will last in the long run. I was thinking if trying toytec coilovera maybe. But I'm curious are they really any better then the regular 5100s other then the fact I can adjust them myself? I mean as far as longivity which one is better or are they pretty much the same? I'd be setting them at about the 2.5 mark again withthe aal.

 

Id say go full OME kit. you'll get the lift plus a nice ride

 

I thought about that as well but I kinda didn't wanna go higher then 2.5 cause I don't have the cash to dish out for new control arms right away. I mean with my 5100s on my old truck at 2.5 I really didn't have any big steering issues and my alingment was super off. I know I prob will have to get new control arms eventually tho.

 

ICONS. Well worth the cash IMO. I have 5100's now myself on my '09 and holding myself back to spend da money! They rode like a Cadillac on my '03.

 

If u get the 885's it should put u at around 2.5 inches in the front once it settles?

 

If you don't have the cash then save up and do something new. I wouldn't do the same thing over again, but that's just me.

if you want to drive on clouds, get some quality CO's

 

But with the 885's + the top plate spacers, its should be closer to 3" I think.

 

Is the ride really that much better with 885s vs the billies set at max. I kinda like the stiffer ride cause right now stock i don't like the spongy ride. Dumb question but do u have to use the top spacer plate?

 

Well I have the 885's with 5100's all around and it is stiffer then stock and I like it like that. I dont think you need to use the top plate spacer though.
