That's what I really wanted too!

The z series and the snugtop rebel both have framesless rear windows... I just didn't want to pay the premium lol

I think I'll be happy with the v series fit and finish I have sent on here for fellow member looks flawless for how cheap the shell was.

Yeah, V series is hard to top from a value/fit/finish perspective ... terrible pun intended.

Must not rain where you live. Those sliders on the windoors leak like a mofo.

Not much on mods - Leer 180, TRD wheels, Mobtown sliders, rear hitch, helper springs on the rear

Taking a look at the prices folks are paying, I'd say they went up since I purchased my Leer 180 for my 2015 Access Cab. I had a coupon for a free tilt and remove front glass. So, the out the door price with one windoor on the passenger side, plus Thule tracks, state sale tax and install was $2200.

I went with the Leer 180, because Craig's shop over at 3rd Coast Vans was so much cleaner than the messy shop over at the SnugTop dealer down on Ben White and Fortview. So far, after 50 plus inches of rain this year the windoor has leaked at all.

However, if you do open the windoor right after a heavy rain or running the truck through the car wash, it does trap a bit of water that will drip into the truck bed. I may install a removable strap that prevents the windoor from opening past the 90 degree point, but the amount of water that drips in when I open it is less than a few tablespoons.

With regards to Craig at 3rd Coast Vans, tell him that the Leer 180 on my white 2015 Access Cab still hasn't leaked.

A bit ugly - but very serviceable, in my opinion.

If you read on this forum a few fellow members are having problems with the actual shell being higher then the cab, the the roof lines do not line up. I called a few dealers in town and even directly with an ARE rep and they said this is a problem they are looking into because for some reason the CX shell was not redesigned for the 3rd gen tacoma. They used the shell from the 2nd gen tacoma and only changed the rear window and the color selection and that makes sense why the shell is higher then the cab because the bed sides on the 3rd gen are higher then a 2nd gen.

this is why i did not choose the cx and i got the V series instead.

because with that rebate the cx ends up being cheaper, but you can get free carpet with either model. only thing is you can only use on coupon the $200 rebate or the free carpet, not both.

Let me know if you need anything else!

Just purchased a Leer 100xr with carpet, led lights, removable slider window and Thule Rack system! Went with Leer due to the window screens pop out easily(for dogs)! The ARE are almost impossible to remove and they only offer All Glass back door on highest end model! My buddy has ARE CX series and it is nice as well! I found features to be reason for one Brand or another! Leer generally cost 100 more per similar box but check manufacture offerings and coupons! In my case the Leer was $200 cheaper and offered what I desired! 2 grand all in with a Tacoma bed mat purchase also! Nothing wrong with either as I have had both brands! Both warranty similar and my dealer carry both! Dealer support is more important than brand!

Look at both ARE and Leer Web sites when purchase and ask dealer also! I had my shell installed yesterday and do not quote me but ARE MX and CX models have a rebate and free carpet! Leer has rebate and Free carpet also! I was pricing ARE V series and Leer 100R but was able to step up either brand model cheaper than carpet install on the lower end! Also for Budget Minded buyers Leer offers a Freedom series Camper shell your dealer not the website may mention! It is the same as the 100R Leer but does not offer lifetime paint warranty! Also Leer has lipless Bed contact and ARE have a bed trim! No wrong with either and quality is same in my opinion! Only sharing info because less than 24 hrs ago mine was installed! In North Carolina I ordered my unit 12/5/16 and it was installed 12/15/16!

I had a leer on my 08 and was happy with it. I went with a leer on my 17 and granted I've only had it on for 3 days I like it. I went with the xl series for on my old she'll I found it to be a pita to slid people the rear windows. this one has the crank out wear vent windows.

Agree some if you go to leer they have or had black Friday savings which wasn't much but took 75.00 off and also offered free carpeting coupon too.

I didn't get the rack for that was 300.00 I may just install a factory 4runner roof rack on it and use Yakima railriders. (setup I already have)
