So I've spent several hours trying to find an answer to this question before making this thread.

I'm anticipating getting All-Pro expedition heavy leaf springs sometime in the near future, and when that happens I'd like to get king shocks as well, but my understanding is that the king OEM performance shocks (25001-121) dont have sufficient extension for them. So I'm trying to figure out what, if any, king shocks would work, preferably without shock relocation.

I looked at the info on the Fox shocks AP has in the suspension kit and tried to look for a King shock with similar specs, maybe I'm just dumb but I can't seem to find anything.

Both good ideas. I guess it would make sense to ask AP directly. I'm just trying to get an idea of what this whole thing would cost me. Thanks for the replies.

I believe the all pro expos have about 10" of flex. You want King OEM extended travel....they should cost the same as the regular King OEM. It's the same shock absorber, but internally the rod travel isn't as limited

Huh, okay. I haven't seen the extended rear shocks anywhere so I didn't even know those existed. Thanks

I believe its with the Dakars DSM puts a 1" longer rod end on Kings to compensate for the droop of the leafs. They can be ordered this way from any King dealer (including me)

Personally, id buy the leafs, put them on and measure for yourself. If you plan on doing a shackle flip or even a longer shackle this would be the best approach before you order shocks. That way you get the appropriate size.

I also think the Expos are on back order. You can look at Deaver. They make a set for SDHQ that they stock or you can go custom. Great set of leafs, I have over 60k on mine.

For me no cons, cause I made most of the necessary mods to compensate for the potential issues the relocate may run into.

Our leaf packs are made for SOA/ inverted shackles. When you relocate, shackle flip and extend the shackles you are essentially forcing that leaf pack to go into negative arch while stuffing a tire.

    IMG_20161018_155405.jpg
Thats almost full stuff for me. I still run an OEM bump but what I need to finish is build a spacer for my bump to stop the leaf about right here.
    IMG_20161018_155501.jpg
Not too extreme, but enough to help wear the leaf pack out faster.

Next is the shackle flip area. The OEM perches are prone to doing this \ / as well as bending the frame at the bump. (Mostly when one likes to go fast or even crawl) these can be exaggerated with a full plate bumper and swingout due to the weight hanging off the rear. @northwesttaco can speak to bending perches. :

    So we did this
    IMG_20160228_153311.jpg

Plated the frame in with holes to let water escape along with a new crossmember that reinforced the shackle flips. My shackle flips were welded vs bolted.

Overall I love this setup. With the valving I use the truck soaks up washboard and handles weight very well. Plus I use every bit of my keaf pack and those 12s. Its nice to not always hang a tire and keep the locked rears down.

Thats about all i got time to respond now. Let me know if you have any more questions or just visit my build.

Edit: I owe this knowledge from the community. Without them, I wouldn't of been this fortunate in how it all worked out with not going overboard on budget.

Thanks a lot for sharing. I've still got a lot to think out I guess. I'll definitely look at your build too.

Best advice I can give is
    Screenshot_20151231-070036~01.jpg

Go into the MTBS thread, there is a FAQ in the first 3 posts. Lots of info there and builds to look at.

Figure out everything you want to do and work towards that without buying twice.
