Fair point. My 4.56s would not cut it with that size tire even if I could find a matching ratio in a new front.

37's feel stock with 4.88's so 5.29's would feel good.

Cool. I went 4.56's because I figured they wouldn't be toooo overgeared with my 33's, but I'd be perfect for the 35's I wanted and maybe alright with 37's later. Or maybe it was because @loco killed his beautiful truck and there was a good deal on parts around camp one day.

Side note: 4.56's are great for 33's, but a bit much for 265's. I want to get new dedicated winters but I keep killing sidewalls and getting road hazard warranty replacements on these damn things.

Oh you got his gears?? Lucky. But yeah I agree. I ran 4.88's with 285's for 6 months.. that wasn't fun

    I got his rear gears/locker. @NYCO got @loco 's locked front, then I got @NYCO's open front.

I had never swapped a diff/clamshell before, but @NYCO and I did 6 removals and 5 installs with basic hand tools laying in the dirt covered in gnats. Super thankful for @loco 's guidance even though he was sore after rolling his truck down a bank and didn't want to do much wrenching. Also super glad he said we didn't have to bother putting the clamshell back in his truck before it went to the wrecker.

My profile pic is part of this process <-

Super glad it's over. But also glad I did it. I am in love with that rear locker... and jealous of your front one :p

Well not like you had a choice ;) haha but I'm glad i got it for snow, really helped last weekend when my rear end was about to slide off the trail. In the rocks it makes me a bit nervous but I turn it off the second I don't think I need it.

Yeah I've heard some horror stories about locking our front diffs in high traction terrain.. but I bet it'd help me get out of all the damn mud here in the summer, and be great for snow in the winter.

Definitely good in snow. As long as the opposite wheel can slip you should be fine

    Few updates:
Came out to my truck yesterday in front of my house and all the latches on my driver side plano box were open.. Thankfully nothing was stolen.. I think they thought there would be a gun in there. I've been meaning to buy better locks so I did right away and now they are on.

The water leak has returned.. It used to be the snorkel but fixed that and now I think its my passenger front roof rack mount. Going to pull the bolts tomorrow and load it with silicone and hope that fixes it.

Also Relentless fab tail gate reinforcement showed up yesterday, air bumps come this week. I've got so many parts to install and once this quarter at school is over its going to all happen!

Probably the biggest reason I don't keep my box on the roof year around, people think it's a gun. People that steal shit probably want them. I think another member had the entire box stolen in the past.

I've had my box opened a couple times. Definitely a drawback of the rifle cases.

Yup. Alu-Box makes some nice stuff that would be ideal and not scream come steal my gun (who would actually mount a gun to their roof rack anyways lol) But the price is a little high, and for the price of one box you could have 4 plano cases
