2017 TRD PRO, who's waiting?

I'm going from a '10 4R trail to a tacoma pro.

Today is the last day of my drop date at the dealer and I am beside myself. WHY WON'T THEY FREAKIN CALL?!?!?! I put my deposit down in June!

 

Jeesus. Good luck. I only had to wait 3.5 months for my Pro.

 

Anybody considering a 4Runner PRO over the Tacoma PRO? Price wise, they are about the same. Amenities wise, I think the 4Runner is way ahead.

 

I was at one time. It's not really about amenities, rather then needing or wanting a bed. I need a pickup rather then having another SUV in the family. My wife drives around in the SUV, so that for me was a determining factor.

 

If the tow rating was the same I probably would have concidered

 

4Runner pro is way higher build quality too

Not to mention truly JDM

 

I loved the '16 4Runner. Not sure I agree on fit and finish. The interior def. needs to be updated. It felt a lot like the same materials controls etc as the 2nd Gen Taco. Not sure I've seen the 17.

 

Build quality and modern isn't the same thing

Our Pro interior is fantastically modern

However I find 4Runner pro quality to be higher

 

Good point. I also didn't see a 4Runner Pro so I don't have an apples to apples comparison. This was against an SR vs my wife's '15 highlander vs my Pro.

When they refresh the interior, I think my wife will def. go Pro.

 

Absolutely, IF there was a manual option. plus i kinda need a bed.

 

Pros seem to be the must have these days. I am sure your wife will love it

I wouldn't ever touch a used 4 runner pro . I see the abuse the owners do to them

 

bummer how the 4runner interior is so outdated. the pro is i tiny bit better with the seats... the poor sr5 seats are some crazy ugly stripes on that ... when the heck they gonna up grade the inside of that ride ?

 

Got a build date of December 9th on my Cement Pro M/T. It's been a loooong wait. Been wanting one since February or whenever the announcement for these trucks came out.
Guy from the dealership called and asked if I wanted to make $1,000. The price on my truck is locked in at MSRP because I've been on the waiting list so long. He said if I gave up my truck they'd pay me $1,000 because they can sell the truck in a heartbeat to the next guy on the list with a $5,000 markup. Crazy stuff. I said no obviously, I've been waiting way too long already. Pretty cool that my truck will come with $5,000 principle right off the lot

 

I love the looks of the 4Runner but I feel it is a bit dated. Needs an update.

 

Be curious to see which of us gets their cement M/T first - my build date is Dec. 5th.

 

I have a build date of dec 15th. Anyone know how long delivery usually is after build date?

 

Mine was built on 11/19, has been at the local train depot since Thursday, expected to take delivery on Monday, so a bit over two weeks? I'm in the Denver area.

I swear they just like building the anticipation! Can't wait for my super white 6MT!!

 

Post pics when you get the white pro. you don't see too many of those. best color imo.

Stevinson Toyota West. Got my last Tacoma here too. I can't recommend them enough actually; in my experience they've been great to deal with and are competitive with their pricing (aside from the pro, though I knew I'd be at MSRP with this model). They were also helpful in adjusting the order to my specs (just wanted to drop the extra all-weather floor mats and step up bars--have WeatherTech liners and sliders I'd prefer).
