Haha! Yeah, I had the XR on my old Tundra and no problems with the dogs popping the hatch. I put the ABS pipe in the corners to keep the dogs noses from pushing the exposed cable and popping the latch. However, they quickly learned all they have to do is bite down on the emergency release in the center and voila... I now transport them in the back of the truck secured in a kennel. My hope is that the younger one will grow out of it as I'm not concerned with my older dog, he stays put and is over the anxiety. Good luck.

Nice GSP decal! Pay no attention to the GSP inflicted damage to the weatherstrip.

Century also has a model called the Crown, which they don't seem to advertise much. I'm not sure if it's available for the Tacoma. It's a basic shell with no headliner or other bells and whistles. I think they start around $1250. Vision is another brand that I don't know much about but are supposedly cheaper.

Bit off topic here, but does anyone have an suggestions for lights inside the canopy? I'm not a fan of having a light hardwired to the battery that I can forget on in the canopy and walk away and drain the battery. Yes I can run it through a fuse block/etc and put one so it turns on and off when I open doors/etc. I prefer to keep it simple and do not want anything attached to the battery until I start wiring in aftermarket accessories through a fuse panel/secondary battery setup. That is in the works but is a few months away, and will be done when I get the bumper/winch setup I want.

Anyways, I'm looking for an aftermarket light I can velcro to the ceiling that runs off batteries and I can just reach up through my windoors and hit the switch, any help would be appreciated. Preferably something like an led strip, although my google foo seems to be broken.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Steve

You can do something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015R3TTP6
Then you can use any usb battery to power them. There a other versions, might be some with velcro already attached?

Just got my ARE MX installed and I am really happy with the fit. I will be adding some interior lighting and other features to camp and store MTB's in but for now it is a stock MX.

hmm, that is along the lines I was thinking, it might just might work, although I would prefer a AA/9volt battery solution. I'll keep on digging as well.

Shop around Amazon a bit. They have a few battery packs that take 3-4 AA's and output USB

Can anyone supply me with the height of the door opening on a Leer 180 cap? I am trying to build a sliding bike rack for our Tandem bicycle and I need to know the clearance .

I would say A.R.E V series, but the angle of the back looks too acute. I'm stumped, but it looks either A.R.E. or Snugtop to me.

Hey, thanks for your help with my questions. I stopped by Topper King the other day, $150 more than Cap World, but I get the feeling TK will do a better install. I'm probably going to order in the next week.
