Well I apologize if this is already a thread but I've searched and came up with nothing.

Got a killer deal on some TRD headlights with the led strip inside. Only thing is the truck has been wrecked and there is a couple tabs broken and the lense is scuffed up. Base model SR's do not have that. I've looked in my truck and I don't see a pigtail that's not going anywhere so I'm sure the wire harness isn't there.

I'm planning on doing light bars and all that so I'm getting an aux fuse box from blue sea. I'm also planning on blacking out my headlights like the TRD pros. So my question would be, could I run the hot wire from the led strip to a relay and from the relay to the fuse box which of course the trigger wire from the park lights to the relay also, in order to work the led strip? Or is there some kind of regulator box somewhere in the TRD's for that said led strip?

Just one more question. If could get the led strip to work that way I assume I could just take the guts out of the TRD headlights and put them in the SR headlights and fix the broken tab and scuffed lense problem. Would that be possible?

    Thank you all in advanced!!

Just off the top of my head the turn signal plug on your sr will not fit in the TRDs hole without some trimming. The tabs on one are in a north south east west arrangement, while the other is north south north-east south-west, or something like that. Not a huge issue, just something to be aware of.

I can do a little trimming that's not a problem. I just didn't want to risk them not working or burning my truck down

now, maybe I'm just crazy but there IS a connector on my SR for something, near the passenger's side headlight. For reference that white part at the bottom is the windshield washer jug. Do you have that one? My original guess was that it was for LED DRL's but I also couldn't find one on the other side...

I have not seen that connector. I noticed on the drivers side on the wire loom there is 3 white wires I believe maybe 4 that has butt connectors on them that goes to nothing. I believe the passenger side has them also under the windshield washer jug. That could be a good lead!

I got them off eBay. Both of them for 200 bucks! I talked to a service guy I know at the dealership and he said he didn't think they would be any kind of problem switching out the housings on them other than the wires for the led. I can work around that so hopefully it'll all go good

No not yet. Probably be a few weeks. But I honestly don't see why it won't work. I'm still waiting for them to come in the mail.

    I don't see why you couldn't.
The TRD headlight LED strip has 3 wires; Ground, Power(dim), power (bright).
Just jump a wire from your inside Orange DRL to the LED and it should be good to go.

As for swapping out the guts, That's alot of work for a broken tab.....
the only difference i can tell is the interior housing has a slot cut for the LED strip.
    Good luck
