Same here man. Owning my truck has certained expanded my skill set and helped me to branch out and figure things out and try new things. I do most of my own work on my truck now and build a lot of my own stuff. It's very rewarding!! Awesome truck by the way!

My buddy that owns that property/shanty got stuck last week just trying to get down the drive way. He's hunting late elk/deer archery out there.

 

@northwesttaco did you have to crank your coils up after skid install? Did you have 700# coils before you went long travel?

I had 600's. But yeah I did have to crank them. You have 650's though I believe which will help a lot.

I actually have 700# coils from wheelers. Good to know tho. I'm about to take my RTT and rack off then install the skids. It's already a 1/2" higher in the back.

 

Oh you'll be fine then for sure. I hardly have any preload on my current coil overs with 700's. You won't notice much of a difference at all.

 

I just had to crank up my coilovers... I feel they need to go up higher.. I'm running the 700s as well... I have 3/4 of the thread exposed

 

I've got like damn near a beard hair close to 1" of preload right now.

 

Thanks, i agree it is quite rewarding. Im looking forward to moving out west this month to experience how WA offroading is, and meeting new people! Right when I think the truck is "done" I get some new idea in mind...installing an ARB air locker when I arrive in WA, hopefully not too much into the new year. Working with "just diffs" to get the parts.

Everett Ring and Pionion isn't to far 1.5 hours north. They did front and rear gears plus lockers on my old Ford.

 

Ill have to look into them too. "just diffs" had a good price tag on theirs too. Thanks for the info!
