call me crazy but doesnt 4wd screw you in turns? i understand how it works and rarely use it because it makes the front end very sketchy in corners. this lady made around about 10 out of the 90 degrees the road turned. she was baffled how that could happen when the vehicle is in 4wd

 

Theoretically it can improve your traction in corners. The problem is that people forget that it's slippery because they can accelerate just fine in 4x4, and they carry too much speed in to a corner, realize they're sliding, stomp on the brakes in a panic, and ditch it.

 

It sure does. That's what I had on my taco and have on ny FJ sliders

I also put it on the leading faces of the sliders to help prevent them from being sandblasted from shit off the.front tires over the winter

 

Oh alright I know what I'm doing when this stuff dries up. Did you mount it to the raw metal or just over the bed coating?

It's a blast although I haven't had a sled in some time now.

That will work, or you could use grit mixed in with the Bedliner and apply that to the top side of the sliders. That would help with it and no tape to mess with.

This, she overdrove her vehicle for the conditions. 4x4 helps you move/accelerate/turn in snow so long as you aren't driving too fast for the conditions

 

I just rattle canned mine. It's on top of the rattle coat.

 

Have you seen the movie Edge of Tomorrow? They've basically made their own version of that movie.

 

I'm house/dog sitting and the house I'm at has a driveway that is incredibly steep (if I stop halfway up in 2WD, the truck just spins no matter how slowly I apply throttle), so I was a little nervous about snow. I envisioned the truck sliding all the way down.

 

This was the last sled I owned. It was a 1973 John Deere 400. Doesn't look like much but it'd hold 60 MPH and with that narrow of a track and virtually no suspension, that was plenty!

This was my old man's sled. It was a 1979 John Deere 440 Trail Fire. For as old as it was, it would cook! Obviously, no match for today's sleds, but for it's time it was quick.

 

Here's mine.
1973 (I think) Elan.
It's loud, slow, and stinky, but it starts on the second pull when it's cold and the first when it's warm, and it'll break trail like nobody's business.

 

My neighbor had one of those. We were quite the sight when we went on a trail ride. We had the old Elan, my '73 John Deere, my dad's '79 Deere and an early 70's Mercury sled and mind you this was in the '90s.

IDK how they do it but when you go up it's fairly normal for you to see whole families with all brand new sleds. 50-60K in it when you factor in the 10K on the trailer. And people think skiing is expensive
