Nothing official, and no dates, but this is something we are looking into.

In Virginia having non approved dot lights for state inspection purposes will result in a failure unless they are fully covered?
Do you plan on including a cover for the pod?

I don't want to speak for them, but I believe the Caliraised LED bars have a magnetic type cover. Wouldn't be too hard to adapt that to the pods I would guess

looks good. My only critique is: I'd like to see them pushed back more. The one side of the light looks really far out due to the angle.

Yes @CaliRaisedLed has magnetic covers which should meet the intent of this law, but I am not a lawyer in VA so please speak to your local experts.

What I can say about fog lights is that they actually are not covered by federal DOT regulations. DOT has no published guidance, which in theory means they are wide open. However there is an SAE level of compliance and that is what people who manufacture street legal fogs use. We are working to find a solution to this for those who desire to have an SAE approved light. Just be advised that an SAE approved light may not necessarily be an upgrade in brightness because it has to meet those standards. We are finding out exactly what we need to do for this.

In order to have them shooting straight this is the only way to do it. The plastic behind the bumper doesn't allow much room for a different method...

Just checking that the 20W 2x2 pods would be compatible with the mounts. Those would be my slight preference over the 18W 3x2

They will absolutely fit. They will however not be a good "fog" and would be more of an offroad distance uses.

Noted, would the Cree pods be a better "fog"? Or are you referring to a spot vs flood beam battern?

Your oem fogs are a flood pattern. We have found that flood pods aren't much of an upgrade from these and don't use them in our combos.

Instead we tested with 18W spots and they work the best. They are a traditional reflector so they still have a fair amount of scatter/flood lighting, however they shine much further out. They are a little less flood than the oem lights but the big addition in distance makes for a nice upgrade in our opinion.

The 20W 5D pods use an optical lens so it is a focused spot pattern. These have little to no scatter, so no flood element to them. They do shine far but will not work as a fog is intended.

You will need to drill one 3/8" diameter hole behind the factory fog trim panel. That is what allows us to have the hidden mounting. If you ever went back to stock the factory fog trim would cover the hole and you would never know it's there. We do this with 12-15 fogs and it works awesome and is very strong.

The OEM fogs are not very effective. Any I rarely use fog lights. So I am more interested in swapping them out for offroad use lights anyway.
