I installed a Red stitched TRD shift knob today, to match the Red stitching in my seats.

I actually used the sanding "wheel" that came with the kit because it was handy and had the sponge attached. When I used the 2000 wet sandpaper I just did it by hand lightly over the whole surface until I had a relatively even frosting and wet slurry going. Then I used the supplied 3000 grit wheel again, and the rubbing compound.

Maybe this weekend I'll go back and re-do it to see if I get a clearer result with using the actual drill for the 3000 grit and polishing compound steps with more time spent on both.

I'm really not likely going to keep doing this and even with buying a UV inhibitor spray this is way too much work compared to shelling out a hundred or so bucks on new OEM headlights. Not interested in going to projectors, HID, CFL, etc. type of lenses because amazingly I'm okay with the stock look.

The lenses, like the rest of the truck really showed the 166K thats on it so this made a huge difference. I'd call this more of a temporary fix than anything but compared to how they looked yesterday morning, it's a HUGE improvement.

One thing though is that every single push clip I took out got damaged... I need to buy a bag of 100 of those damn things!

Waiting for my truck to be aligned right now. Hopefully the tech listened to me when I said give me as much caster as possible. Even showed him my last numbers, fingers crossed.

    Hey all,
Usually I only post in the 1st gen, but does anyone know the value of a full OEM suspension (springs, shocks, leafs,UCA's) with under 20K on them.

Not knowing how they were used while in service look at the length of warranty they offer as new, what the estimated mileage per year is and then subtract the "under 20k" from it. Use that percentage to determine value. Or, just knock a quarter off wholesale value, place the ad, and crack a beer.

light use and still have good shape on the leafs

I had a full set of almost new Nokian Hakkapalitta snow tires mounted on alloy rims given to me last week....drove four hours round trip to pick them up. Installed them yesterday and man, are they heavy! Good thing I put them on cause the local station was calling for "a few flakes" of snow but we actually got close to six inches. It would've been dicey slipping around on my OEM AT20s. I had no problems whatsoever driving the 28 miles to work...just had to watch out for the bozos trying to drive with half bald all season radials.

Ordered different Amber Lenses for the Baja Design fog lights. Decided to do the Wide Cornering instead of the Driving Combo lenses. Would rather the beam pattern to be fully spread out instead of the kinda spread and then two spots.

Also ordered an OTTRAW switch for my soon to be backup/camp lighting. Doing a three position switch to be able to have them on all the time, on only when in reverse, and then off all together.

Yeah, you could have given me a touch less camber. At least you got my caster to 2.25 with stock uca's.

Finally got around to repowder coating my wheels. Changed colors for the winter, probably will change colors again in the spring. Threw together a textured bronze and added some pearl for effect. Its a fine texture, like 120grit paper. Going to mount my bfg m/ts from my wrangler on them and call it good for this season.

I have a full set of 5, the 5th just is not pictured

I'm curious to know if it's ok to paint over a powder-coated accessory with a Rattle Can Enamel ? Thanks.

You will need to sand it, and use a good high quality primer before painting. Personally I would use a solvent based primer and paint for best adhesion. Or I can set you up with a quality coater in your area that will be happen to strip the powder off for you so you can paint it.

Appreciate it. Sounds like it would be the same process to have it re- powder-coated. I'm looking to just change the color. Thanks.
