I have been on the hunt for a 4x4 Dcab for a while now. I have pretty much narrowed my search to either of the TRD packages.

over the past day or so, I have been thinking as to weather I really should get a TRD at all. The search is slow since used 4x4 TRD Dcabs are hard to find in this area.

So here is the plan for the build

Parts that I have here already ( some off of the X)

    TRD S/C
    APR X-1
    Dough Thorley Long Tube Headers
3" URD Catback ( will be modified to fit the 4x4)

    Plan build for this Spring

    Fabtech 6" kit
    Icon 6" front coilovers
    Alcan rear leafs
Armor of some type ( still need to decide, but leaning toward Armortech since he is somewhat local)
33" or 35" MT MTXs or BFGs ( undecided)

So basically, the only parts of the TRD package that I would actually use is the diff ( limited slip or Locker) and the sport seats. And there is a possibility that the truck will be regeared if I go with 35s, so I could possibly put a locker in at that point. Or can you get an SR5 with a limited slip?

What do you think, is it worth me looking for a TRD ( which is a pain in the ass so far to find an Indigo Ink TRD Dcab). Or just find an SR5 and go from there since they are alot more abundant and I am going to change most of the stock parts anyway?

thanks in advance for you opinions

    Justin

It should be fun, I put the cash away from the parts that I sold off of the X to do this. I just need to find the truck to start:). And that seems to be the hardest part

I say trd. But you will probably be happy with a non trd as well.

yeah, they are the same as the X-runner seats so I am used to them and I like the added bolsters. but they still kind of suck on long trips.

i figured I would just put the question out there

Ill have to go drive one.
