So the wife and I are going to up north to Quesnel, British Columbia at the end of the month here - some 600km or so. I've been looking, but doesn't seem like anyone has discussed the use of chains on their trucks either Tacoma or any Truck for that matter.

    What I want:
Chains I can use for both winter camping - logging road use - as well as highway use when driving through the rocky mountains.

For those unfamiliar with our highways up north, many parts can get unexpected snow and are not plowed regularly enough to rely on the roads magically being clear. So chains are a must for where we vacation

Please Drop some links of what you own or keep in your recovery gear, and your experience using the product for both performance and longevity. Thanks in advance!

I'm not coming up with a specific chain model for the Tacoma. Their site is laid out oddly. Am I having trouble because I'm Canadian?

After doing a bunch of research and also knowing what I don't want in a chain, I've settled on this set. So they're on order and I should see them soon! Pretty excited, and again a big thank you for suggesting this brand and style. Pewag clearly makes a superior tire chain from what I can see in their product videos as well as their experience in the heavy duty industrial market.

Obviously I don't own these yet but if anyone else is reading this and in need of a set of chains, definitely check out PEWAG. their staff have been extremely helpful in informing me on all my questions and getting back to me by email and phone as fast as humanly possible.

If you're tossing around the idea of buying chains because you think you may only use them once, think of all the areas you can use them:

    Winter wheeling/camping
High elevation fall and spring exploration
    Muddy terrain
    Hunting

    Possibilities are endless.

Thanks again @Nickel for the suggestion on buying Pewag.

I can tell you I trusted those chains with my life! Never did I ever have a failure that I didn't cause.
Once you get used to putting them on super tight, you will have tons of confidence in them also.
I would have to install and remove up to 20 times a day, so I could install in less than 3 minutes and remove in one minute.
Let me know when they come in and I'll give you some pointers, if you'd like.

I will indeed :) much appreciated man. Could be in the new year tho, I may not get them before I head up north, but I got new rubbers coming in tomorrow. Throwing on a set of 265/75R16's I got a free set of 16" rims off a second gen from a guy at work, and I needed snow tires, so now I've got a set I can swap out on an hour

Ordered them, was on the phone back and forth for a week with the dealer in British Columbia, they said they would call when they came in, they have yet to return my call... It's been months. Very disappointed with their customer support (however this is not Pewag's fault, just my local dealer sucks)

They were a great price too! Under $300 for a set.

However, I will order them again before next winter. Kind of sucks cause we've had a ton of snow and the trails have a ton of snow too... Would have been nice to get a chance to pass some of these trails. Won't be able to get into them for another month at least

This thread title was either very misleading or I need to see a therapist.
