It was Chinese labor on the railroads here, historical fact. Colorado's dirty little secret. :spy:

I think this poll is making it very clear that Old Brett's train set is not a scale model.

It's also apparently not a toy. Not sure what it is.... :notsure:

That's easy. A not to scale model. :D

Since he first started posting this train stuff I've been wanting to construct a (close) to scale model of some Colorado area - the first coming to mind being Red Mountain/Irontown south of Ouray. Something that was track dense enough to make it an interesting layout, but still a real place. I could get the topo data, have it run through a CNC to make accurate terrain, then go for an N scale layout. Unfortunately even at N scale that's a fairly large layout, though doable. Which is also why Rollins Pass kind of ruled itself out.

But since I only have HO scale stuff back at the parents and possibly aunt/uncle's, and I haven't got the money to get into N... I guess it's a good thing, since I don't really have the time either. So I'll just watch someone else do it. Just like truck mods. :D

Not-to-scale model sounds a hell of a lot like toy to me.

I don't know of many kids who can afford these. Therefore, scale model.

Therefore I move that any further comments be stricken from the record.

    Seconded.

I would ask Old Brett if there's any updates on his toy train set, but he's unsubbed.

Possibly, I'm not entirely happy with the way the upper level is turning out. So I may tear it out and start over.

    Unsubbed.
