    If you've got a functional AC compressor they make excellent air compressors . there's plenty of info on converting an AC to air compressor on the interwebs . Also this will give you constant 100 psi air pressure

    I never timed it but used it a lot on my 265 75 16's and was pretty quick. You have to let any of these cool off after a minute or two so duty rating is what you want to see.

    Guys I know used the same on 33's.....

    It's the one I saw stocked at all the 4x4 shops too and no complaints.

    This that and the other thing.
    I got the Viair 90P, I took the gauge off and the handle off, replaced the hose with a quick connect and installed an adjustable release valve, was able to bolt it into the big storage compartment in the bed of the truck and hard wired it to my independent circuit board. works great for inflating tires.

    Just make sure the heat can dissipate. They get hot quickly.

    As long as it's not in an enclosed cubby, you'll be fine. Lots of people run them in cubbies, but take the lid off for air to circulate.

    Can any of the mentioned compressors be safely mounted under the hood? (ie vibration/water/ect proof) Ive run outta room for shit in my access cab truck and would like to add a compressor and hard wire it under the hood. Plus I like the idea of it being outside the cabin to keep it cool versus being stuffed in somewhere. My old lady's Jetta is bagged and the Viair compressor is hidden behind the seat, it gets so hot we have a small 12v fan in the compartment that comes on when the compressor runs.

    Why hardwire it? I use mine all the time.. just throw the clamps on the battery posts and do all 4 tires from 20psi to 34 psi without taking a break to let it cool down. hardwiring seems like an unnecessary hassle and the it limits your options for storage location, using on other vehicles, etc.
