I'm shopping for a tacoma and the dealership I went to has the exact one I am looking for. It's considered a used because the truck was supposed be used as a rental but it was never rented and only has 20 miles on it. So its still basically new. They're willing to sell it to me for 36,600 before TTL. Is this a good deal? Here is some
    Info about the truck.

2016 TRD Sport White Double Cab 4x4
    Tech package
    Tonneau Cover
    Tow Package
    5" oval tube step
    All weather mats
    Mud guards
    Exhaust tips
    Extended warranty 7/100k

I also have an option to order a 2017 in the same configuration without all the accessories and tech package only for 35,700. Is there any reason to get a 2017 over the 2016?
For an extra thousand for the 2016 I would be getting extra accessories and extended warranty. What would you guys do? Thank you im advance

Before you decide anything, sit in the one with P&T package and one without, then decide if you want a moonroof or not.
Once you have that figured out you can go further.

Issue with the 2016. It will always be classified as a rental. Meaning trade in value will be lower.

Not sure where you are buying. But I got my 2017 TRD Off Road with all those features minus the tech package for 36000.

20 miles is pretty much new and you do want the "stuff". I'd go for the "rental". It's just cool

It's not classfied as a rental. It was supposed to be used as a rental but no one ever rented it. So the dealership dressed it up with all the accessories and added an extended warranty and selling it. Did you pay 36k out the door?

Sounds like you want the 2016.
The only difference between a 16 and a 17 is the 2017 has a power rear slider window.
If that does not matter to you and you feel comfortable headroom wise with the moonroof, go for the 2016.

Also, as part of the deal on the 2016, make sure they look for and complete any applicable TSBs, such as plugs on the control arms and tranny software update.

Well, since the rooves on both trucks are flat, all that extra hardware for the moonroof has to go somewhere--a lower ceiling.

You should be able to get a better deal closer to end of month being that it's end of year.

Yea because before I got my Pro I went in end of the month and was getting a pretty good deal off sticker on the TRD sport. It was for the 2017s on the lot.
