It was a pretty long and super tight trail, need to bring some hedge cutters to clip some stuff down next time!
I'd like to organize another HF run and possibly camp/bonfire there sometime. Let's meetup this upcoming weekend for lunch/offroading? I don't know too many good spots yet so can someone recommend a place to eat

If you're just looking for lunch, maybe Chuy's or Longhorn Cafe. If you're looking for dirt, you're gonna be driving at least an hour. HF is pretty much your only option for serious offroad but there's some public dirt roads around the Llano area.

We forgot to take some but I do plan on bringing the gopro next time...
Another HF run would be awesome for the weekend. Maybe we can stop somewhere in Austin to eat and then hit HF.
I'm still over on the 151 side!

Not even worth mentioning. I actually scratched the shit out of my paint because of all the side brush. Pretty sad about it as it's a 2017 :/

Which Chuys are we talking? And is the rim semi decent for a meet up? Say at like the bass pro shop parking lot? And also what would be good time for everyone? I'm
Thinking for sure weekends but early afternoon or late evening? Maybe we could do a meet and greet each month along with a trail/mudding trip on a seperate weekend? This way we have two opportunities a month for everyone to meet each other and get active.

I didn't have any location in mind. I was just tossing out a couple ideas that would be decent for groups. The Rim is good by me but I'm coming from Boerne so I'm going to be happy with anything on the NW side. I don't mind going a bit further though. I'm used to driving to the airport every day.

Your could take some clay to it then hit it with a good wax. Unless it took it down to the metal.

Haven't been to a meet in a few years. But depending on the day I would be down.

Gonna work on that this weekend. Scratches will buff out just fine, but I messed up my roof line pretty bad. There was a thick branch overhead that scraped against the entire passenger side. Gonna side if my body shop can knock it back into shape

I didn't mean to leave you hanging sir!

My girlfriend and I have a ton of things going on right now. Good things. :)

    I hope you don't mind reading a bit ;)

    Buuuuuuut long story short is:

We came on vacation to California back in February (2016) and I just fell in love with the place (Ventura, CA) from the moment we got here.
My girlfriend's mom was living here in Ventura, CA looking after her own mom so we came to visit her. She was living in SA but moved out here just for that.
We were here for about a week and on the drive back I told my girlfriend that I thought we could make it out here. This was in February of this year, mind you.
The lease for the house we were renting in SA ended in mid-April and between February and April we decided to make the move to Cali.

Two weeks before our lease was up we both turned in our Two Weeks notice at our work places.
The day before the lease was up we rented a Uhaul, packed as much as we could into it and the next day we were off to California.

We moved here with no jobs lined up, no job interviews set up, we just winged it. The only thing going for us was that we had a place to stay for a few months before we had to move out.
I was lucky enough to have found a job within the first month. While I was there I applied for another job as an Inventory Photographer (cars) at a car dealership and got the job the next day.
I worked there for about two months before my current manager reached out to me out of the blue and emailed me saying he liked my work on my YouTube channel and he asked me if I would like to interview with him and his team.

That was right before the South Padre Island Meet. As soon as we got back from the trip I started working for the company I'm with now and things are going AMAZINGLY WELL for my girlfriend and I.

She's a medical assistant, and surprisingly it took her longer than it took me to find a job. She's still working as a Medical Assistant, she got hired back in July. She did NOT like not having a job during those first few months, she really likes to work so you can imagine how hard it must have been on her. She applied to a ton of MA positions all over the place here and went to many interviews. Then when I was working at the car dealership here as a photographer she called me at work and said that a clinic here in Ventura wanted to hire her! We went out to celebrate that night!!!!! :)

It was a hard road to go down but we did, we did it together, and we're pulling through together!

I graduated from UTSA back in May of 2015 and I had applied to a million different jobs all over SA for different positions. Even with my military background and education I never once got an email back or a single phone call. I was working as a Porter at Red McCombs Hyundai NorthWest (car dealership right next to UTSA) from Aug.2014 up until April 2016 getting paid $9.50. :/

I was unhappy to say the least, with my job I mean, and the fact that no one ever got back to me on any job applications I made only made it worse.

After we got back from vacation from Cali I looked online for jobs in the area, photography and videography jobs, and they were always popping up on Indeed. c om and on Craigslist as well.
Jobs that you normally don't see in Texas, let along in San Antonio.

So now I shoot and edit videos for there YouTube channel and I'm getting paid extremely well for it too. :)

This is the video we made of our move from Texas to Cali:

This is the video that apparently my current manager liked so much that he reached out to me because of it :)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLMsA78kCj0

AAAAAND these are two of the videos that I've shot and edited for my workplace:

"When you love what you do"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiACbgHVMBM

"How to cut onions without crying"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISPc20AyQaY

They're a big company, they sell their products internationally as well. Their YouTube channel doesn't have that many active viewers but we are working on it. :)
and dangit I LOVE WORKING HERE!!!

The people here are AMAZING to work with!

Laura, my girlfriend, also really likes working at the clinic she's at. It's a county clinic so she has pretty awesome benefits.

Wow... happy for you man.. good to hear you are doing well.. I remember a time we spoke and you were struggling.. glad you got away from this hell hole and have someone that supports you. It does a lot for you when you have someone that loves you and supports you and y'all work at it together with life's problems . wish I could find that as well.

Eyup, I was struggling to make the truck payments and gas as well but she's paid off now! :D Since 2014!!!
and thank you. It really does. If it makes you feel any better I was single my entire life until I met Laura in the beginning of 2015. 27 years old. It might not be that old for some but dang are we an awesome fit for each other.

You're a cool guy Mike. I'm sure you'll find someone before you know it! :D

You know, Laura never really liked Texas until I showed her the Hill Country. She never went out and explored until we met. She was always in the mindset that she wanted to move back to Nebraska and now she wants a house in the Texas Hill Country. :)

We'll move back one day for sure.

I sure would like to hang out with you guys and catch up!

Clipped quote to spare people. I don't know you but that's awesome man! Congrats with everything :)

So I'm thinking of spraying the truck with quicksand line-x....I'll eventually get tired of the black paint! Thoughts?
