So I'm getting a 3" Bilstein kit from Low Range Off Road but I was just curious as to what tire size people are running on a 3" kit? I was thinking possibly LT285/75R16 without rubbing? I was looking at the General Grabber AT2 because I've had great luck with those tires on other vehicles. Also considering the Grabber X3 or Dick Cepek Fun Country. Thanks!

    265/75/16 without rubbing.

275/75/16 maybe the most with a minor rub.

You won't fit 285s without trimming and/or parts replacement.

285/75/16 is gonna rub the cab mount if you off-road. You'll also gonna have to do minor plastic trimming. And you need wheels with 4.5" backspacing.

Dude get the X3's. You'll be the only member on here with them.

I off road a lot being in colorado. I make a lot of trips to Moab as well. With 275's would factory wheels still work?

If you're not willing to trim then stick with 265/75/16.

Alternatives are new wheels, UCAs, trimming, cutting, welding, or a combination thereof.

I think 275/75r16s are pretty uncommon. I've never noticed them before.

i'll get wheel spacers for sure. The X3's remind me alot of the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2's I ran on my JK and TJ before.

If you get the right wheels and the right alignment 285's will fit with no rubbing. Even off road. You might need to trim a little plastic but that's it.

I don't know why people say you can't fit 285s on a three inch kit without a lot of work.

there are plenty of people here that have little to no rubbing with 285s on a 3 inch lift....

    buy your lift,
    buy some wheel spacers,
    buy your 285s

trim a little bit of the splash guard in the front and hit your trails!

lift height is irrelevant to rubbing without all factors considered: wheel width and offset/backspacing, tire size, alignment specs (caster mostly), and where you consider "rubbing"

Just bite the bullet and get the cab mount chop and the pinch weld mod done!

    Then get the 285's!

    That's what I did.

    :boink:
