I used to put a couple hundred lbs of either steel tractor weights or sand and put them in front of the bed. I don't like putting weight over the axle because if it shifts back, it can unweight the front end. It's more important to stop and steer than it is to go.
The concrete itself is probably only $3,500, it's the labor and excavation that will kill you if you aren't doing the work yourself. Basically double that, you'd have a slab with frost walls placed for roughly $7,000 +/-.
These costs can vary greatly. I would highly suggest finding a residential builder and work with them on pricing and what you want. Don't go steel, it will be more money than traditional wood framed. If you want a free standing building with electric and a poured slab, I would plan on spending $25k +/-. You may find someone who can bang it out for $20k if he's equipped to do so, owns his own equipment and is looking to keep people busy on a quick project.

@DoubleRGirl check out bondbiltgarages.com and kloterfarms.com. Both build garages that would work for you.

Mine is about a 1.5 garage..Pugga, you may remember what I mean. If you walk in the garage door there's a jog a few feet to the right that I park my bikes in. I'd not mind extending that but then I'd have to rip out that whole wall, pour, the dirt work, etc. Hardly seems worth it, especially when I'd want the door to be taller since I can't even fit Cupcake's Rav4 in there.

FYI: Don't do a Google image search for 'tits', at work, without throwing 'bird' in there as well.

I got real nervous about reading this thread at work with where it was just going. Fortunately it's still all safe.
