You will most likely be good (I was) but every truck is different. Just be prepared to buy them worst case scenario!

You will be fine, but your alignment might not be. The higher the lift the more caster you want so the truck tracks straight, doesnt wonder, and stable. i have 3.0 caster which is more than factory but drives amazing.

Hey boys, ok, so after reading this whole thread, looking at lifting my Taco as well, with billies 5100 all around, Dakar leaf pak for the rear, and not yet decided on front springs, as in the near future I will be looking at adding an aftermarket front bumper with winch, would the 885's be able to handle the extra weight or should I be looking at the 886 or 887's? I'm not worried about adding a rear bumper as I'm pretty confident the Dakars can handle it. Appreciate any input.

If you're going to be adding weight soon, go 886s. They're a higher spring rate and handle the extra weight better. You'll probably be at the same height with 887s, but it'll feel softer up front which I wouldn't want with all that weight.

I would go with the 886's they are 2 1/2 " and will support the extra weight of the bumper. 887 would be 3" and you would then need UCA's. Here is a chart:
Coil Specifications:Lift height for 4x4 double cab V6 when using struts OME 90000, 90021 & Bilstein (at first notch) 24-239370**
    • OME 883: Approx lift height for 2005-2015 Tacoma = "1"
    • OME 884: Approx lift height for 2005-2015 Tacoma = 2"
    • OME 885: Approx lift height for 2005-2015 Tacoma = 2.5"
    • OME 886: Approx lift height for 2005-2015 Tacoma w/ 200+lbs of additional weight = 2.5"
    • OME 887: Approx lift height for 2005-2015 Tacoma = 3"
    • OME 888: Approx lift height for 2016+ Tacoma = 2.5"

Was looking into the bilsteins....any thoughts or experience with the 6112 strut and spring (come assembled) and 5160 reservoir set for the rears?

It'll definitely ride better than the 5100s. If you did that and got a progressive AAL for the rear, it would ride really nice.

I'm wondering something along the same lines. I've got a 2011 V6 4x4 Double cab with a winch and grill guard on the front. When I put the winch and grill guard on the front end dropped about an inch.

I've ordered a set of OME 885's and 5100's for the front and rear. I'm thinking about putting the front 5100's at 1" to cancel out the winch assembly and the springs should bring it up 2 1/2" above stock height.

Any problems with this plan? Has anyone else tried something similar? I'm looking to avoid any potential cv joint/control arm issues with installing a diff drop or aftermarket control arm.

It's best practice to leave the 5100s at 0 with aftermarket coils. Reason being is the coils provide the lift. The only reason to not set it at 0 is with stock coils. In that scenario, the preload adds the lift, not the coils themselves.
