Well I'm proud to say I am finally a Happy Toyota Tacoma owner! (er well, not really. I don't quite 'own' it yet!) ;)

A lot of my friends are all surprised as none of them had ever figured me for a truck! I'm the guy who's been driving those cheap snappy little front wheeled driven economical imports all these years!

but I LUUUUVVV my Truck! :D

It's so awesome being up so high compared to the sedans, hatchbacks and coupe's I've been driving for so long. I really like the 01-04 Tacoma body styles the best and finding a Silver 2001 Tacoma extra cab SR5 4x4 for a decent price in my area was just too good of a find not to ignore! I could have jumped into a different make truck for a lot cheaper, but it's a Toyota! And best of all, it's my first truck! :)

I remember back when I was a teenager and my manager came to work one day in his brand new Silver 1988 SR5 4x4 extra cab (they weren't even Tacoma's back then!) and I thought that was just the coolest little truck I'd ever seen! He took us out to break it in that day and we had a blast! That was when I fell in LUV with my truck!

Fast forward some 20 odd years and I've found myself with the opportunity to get myself into the truck I've wanted since I was a kid!! :) (not to sound too dramatic!... I mean, really... it's just a truck! there are many more like it! And that's a good thing!) ;)

The "truck of your dreams" comment isn't too dramatic. I've wanted a Tacoma ever since my neighbor got one back in high school. I know exactly how you feel. Congrats on the new truck, and welcome to TW.

Hah! Well either way, I completely understand. My neighbor's truck looked a LOT like yours. Every day I had to pass it on the way to school, and every day I thought "damn... I wish I drove that."

By the time I was able to get one of my own, the 2nd Gen's were out and that's what I got. Still, I completely understand where you're coming from.
