Maybe not OTD but my truck price was $36k with a tech&prem, tow, TRD wheels and more. So a base OR could easily be had for 34k or less before TTT

These Pro threads crack me up. The same things get said over and over ad nauseum.

Let's get real for a sec. The Pro is a package. It's for marketing and maximum profit for Toyota and the dealer.

There's very little I like personally about the Pro. The grill, lights and seats are about it. The price premium for that simply isn't worth it for me.

But that's just me. I think it's cool other people are willing to spend their hard earned dollars on one and enjoy it.

    This.

What you have on a PRO that you don't have on a Off-Road :

    - Fox suspension
    - Leather interior
    - TRD pro grill
    - TRD pro shift knob
    - TRD skid plate
    - Black out Headlight and taillight
    - Rigid industries fog light
    - Black hood scoop + matte black vinyl
    - Unique Cement color choice
    - TRD pro badge
    - 16" pro wheels
    *- TRD exhaust (thanks ScTuna)

+ all the same others thing that are on a OF, crawl control, rear lock, etc...

Maybe some of you think it's overprice but for the OEM factor, this is a sick truck.

Those who can afford it, go for it! Those who think this is overprice, buy an Off-Road and modify it as you wish.

I think you might be forgetting the Sport. You state you drive alot, the sport is marketed as being better on the road.

Since this is your 1st truck, and your 1st offroading road vehicle, consider the following:

    • It is very unlikely you will start hitting hard trails and doing serious off-roading in a vehicle that you depend upon to make such a long commute.
    • It is also very unlikely you will want to make this a fan-boy 35" tire 4" suspension armored-up rig due to the crappy fuel economy you will get. This would be particularly painful for you since your commute is long and you just came from a Camry.
    • It is even more unlikely that since you keep vehicles for so long, that you will be doing any trails with tight tree lines or other obstacles that will scratch/indent the crap out of your vehicle. It's a nice new shiny truck that you'll want to keep that way for as long as possible.
All that said, I believe you will be very happy with either the Pro or OR. If you like cement gray and don't like sunroofs(don't think it's an option, but may be wrong), go for the Pro; otherwise pick out an OR. The OR has all the same important stuff as the PRO in the event you do start doing more hard-core stuff down the road (locking rear differential, CRAWL). Suspension and cosmetics are easily update-able at any point.

    Hope this helps!

Titus-will search for him on this site. He has a website that sells this stuff for way less. The dealer doesn't even sell them for the prices you listed. Grill, shifter, plate are like $500 not $600 and Titus is under $400 if I recall.

    Something to ponder

Ok so far I'm at 37,505 for TRD OR Double cab LONG Bed. with heated seats package

For Pro in manual (which I want AT) is 43,902

Plus 499 dealer fee and taxes not included here.

The pro grill is installed at the factory so labor is a wash. If you want to compare prices you have to look at the part replacement cost without labor cuz it's the same labor to install an SR5 grill.

And no I don't need to bother posting a link use your search skills.

TRD OR OEM parts compared to the TRD Pro OEM Parts and you will be unpleasantly surprised.

TRD Pro Grill for $380, might want to check out how much it costs to replace the OR OEM Chrome grill..$567 from Toyota $400 from Tutis-will

They use the same tires and the TRD OR OEM wheels are more expensive than the TRD Pro Wheels..according to my dealer prices.
