Time will tell, I guess. How close is the tire to rubbing on it when it's articulated? He's running wheel spacers so it's probably not as bad as it could be without them.

 

same as the bamf kit. Upper shock body but when he gets new wheels that won't rub. It's minimum though

 

That's went over a year with the 12s so not worried about these, plus I have the extended warranty on these bad boys which covers ANY damage

 

I have less shaft showing at ride height and I've had no bump stops since the shocks went on and they haven't blown up yet if that means anything

Soooo...Frank, you put up the videos for this trip pretty damn quick. Where's your video from the Camp & Ride?

 

We are wanting to put together a big group for next summer!

I'll be working on em soon the N. GA trip was a whole different experience lol

 

Well...maybe we can do the Fall Camp & Ride in GA next year. I can tell ya I'm not going to be up for a summer trip.

 

It cools down to the low 60s at night during the summer up where we were, @Trident904 was wanting to get a big group, maybe we could just do it in October instead

 

I dunno. I lived in Conyers (just east of Atlanta) for 2.5 years. It was pretty freakin' hot in the summer.

Anyway, haha, yeah, October works. Hopefully I'll have my steering issues cleared up by then and I'll have some peace of mind that the OGT will be capable of making the trip and returning home under it's own power. That's really what scares me about a trip like that; I'm just not confident she'll hold together.

Did your buy your 63s new or harvest them? If the latter when you removed the bushings did you leave the metal sleeve in there or remove it? Poly bushings?

Harvested, took the metal sleeve out as well, @Timbo89 can confirm since he is the guru of the swaps. (I think he has done 3 of them)

 

Some of it is. And realistically, you could probably handle Flatland Rd with some spotting and good lines.

 

Looking at Frank's videos, I didn't really see anything in there that a 2WD with a locker couldn't have done.

BTW, Frank, did your windshield get busted up there?

 

That is the only damage my truck received from the trip and it was just on the way up on the interstate. A small rock hit the bottom and chipped it then later while in the mountains the crack started to form.
