Around here the Tacoma holds it's value like crazy!
the prices for the 09's are insane, someone posted up a pic of the price of an 09 access cab...over $31000:eek:

picked up my 06 doublecab for $22995

According to KBB, the retail value of mine has only dropped $1K below what I paid a year ago. That's not bad.

Paid $23,000 in May of 05 for mine, ran the numbers on Edmunds & it is worth around $17,500. Not bad for a 3 year old truck with 88,000 miles.

There's a reason I bought new - the used ones are either completely abused, overpriced (one guy with a '07 wanted to sell his for '08 MSRP), or sold before it hits the classifieds. It used to be a rule that if you had the SR5 badge, you'd get 10 serious offers before lunch.

I bought new because I'd only save a few grand by getting a truck with 40K miles. I think the Tacoma holds their value the best because of the reputation of the first gens lasting forever.

^^^ I was on the same situation, i was looking for used, first i only saw a couple selling, and they where about 86% the cost of the new one, adding that interest rate on used cars is higher than the one on new ones i would've ended paying almost the same for a used one..... no thanks....

word thats what i mean...ive seen 05-06 going for 23 - 25000...so in 3 years it has dropped 5 - 7 grand...thats good compared to a navigator losing half the price in 3 years

I know someone who just took a $25,000 hit on a '07 Nissan Armada for trade in.

You just cant beat the Tacoma's when it comes to resale value. When my 99 was "re-purchased" by Toyota, I couldn't find a decent used one anywhere. Thank God for the Internet. The used ones are going like wildfire, since all us rust guys are buying Tacos again

From what I've seen, the Tacoma's hold their value very well. My last car was an '06 Audi A3. I bought it in '06 for 31k, put 33k miles on it, and sold it in May of '08 for 18k. OUCH!

According to KBB or somebody like that the Taco is like #4 for best in holding its value. #1 is the mini cooper and #2 is the Jeep Wrangler.
