TRD Pro?

But, the difference is those members are not driving around telling people its a pro or trying to sell it as a pro. If someone sees them driving down the road and thinks its a pro, that's their problem.
Now if someone puts a pro grill on and tells everyone they have a pro, that's a different problem, and that's the problem we have here.
I straight up asked if this was a pro and the reply was "it appears to be a 2017 Pro."
The dealership is telling me and others its a pro, when we know its not.

I sent an inquiry to the sales team at this very dealership which isnt too far from me. I told them specifically that I wanted to order a 2017 MT Pro in Cement, and would like a quote.

She responded by telling me that the Pro are really rare and there are no allocations for that spec in the region, but they have a lot of TRD that they can deck out for me and add the options I want.

As soon as I told her that if she couldn't order what I wanted then i would find someone else to do it, she was totally ready to order me one at MSRP.

This same dealership also offered me $3k for my 2007 AC because the "maintenance" light was on(you know, the one that comes on every 4500 miles to remind you to change your oil). I walked out of course and easily got about 10k for my truck on craigslist within a week of posting.

 

I was reading this thread earlier today at work...now it says on the dealership SOLD. Guess someone fell for it?

Yea, I realize the difference. In this case the dealer is selling the sizzle of of tarted-up TRD and admittedly being misleading with the name PRO Custom. But really, I think any buyer that is naive enough to pay top dollar for a dealer-customized and dealer-lifted truck is really looking for a mall crawler anyway -- this isn't a buyer looking for a real Pro because he's headed off on epic, technical trial adventures. Chances are he'll be out of it in 10 months when he can't make the payments anyway. It's as much on him if he doesn't read the window sticker and see the model as TRD Sport and then see the separate listing of dealer-add ons. Anyone paying $40,000+ ought to put a little time and research into what he's buying. As they say, buyer beware. Can't hate the dealer for playing the game.

I believe he's an affiliate of jay Wolfe Toyota. He might be more influential to them than us trolling their online operators who clearly don't know the difference between an orange to an apple.
