Rattletrap66’s Build and BS (Chevy 63s)

Thanks, I figured as much as I was eyeballing the bushing's diameter versus the hole last night but wanted to make sure.

 

Flatland Rd was the only one that would have been a maybe for 2wd & locker. If I had done the anytime locker mod I would have given it a shot. 4 low got it done but it took some work

 

Had to order new bushings the kit had the wrong size. But we pressed out the old ones including the sleeve.

 

I went with 3-2128r from energy suspension. At least that's what they listed for a 95 (picked a random year in the middle) k1500.

 

Been a while since I did his but from 87 ish to 97 have the same bushing want to say 98 is the start of the newer size eyelets. The one sent with the swap kit would fall right into the eyes

 

K, you probably know this already, but just in case, if you have full coverage insurance, they are required to replace your windshield at no cost to you, so get Safelite to come out and replace that puppy forthwith!

Can have a body shop that's in network for your insurance company do it too. They will use a better glass

 

Who orders a swap kit for this

 

Ruff stuff sells one and is really good. Have used it 3 times hoping to do a 4th soon

Someone that doesn't want to reuse old ubolts, wants a really badass top-plate and spring mounts (if you get them from Ruffstuff), and doesn't want to have to order all that crap separately.

 

Nice. Mine is for a different application so many things are different. My front shackle has been moved and is wide enough to accommodate 63s and I've already made my double shackle for the rear. Relocating my shocks and angling to 45* while I'm at it.

I was mostly kidding. I get it, kits make it easier and take the guess work out of it.

 

So today I got side swiped by a corolla, thank you @allenfab sliders for keeping me from getting any worse damage. We were traveling on a one way 3 lane road. I was in the far left lane, she was in the far right lane. She decided to turn LEFT and bam my sweet baby was in the way

 

Framis, Captain! That sucks! On the other hand, now you have a chance to get the rest of Squeaky's dents fixed.

Coulda been worse though. I had almost the same thing happen to me back in '97. A girl decided that she just had to be in my lane and turned hard into my steering tire, knocked me across the median into oncoming traffic. Scary shit.
