Here's a picture of one of the templates. When you print these make sure you select "actual size" on your printer options.

Yeah, I made that mistake and ended up with an extra hole on each side of the bed. Fortunately, the light assembly covers them.

3rd gens with the third brake bed light come with a bed light switch. You can turn it on/off as you please. If you have a 2nd gen, a switch must be pretty handy.

Ah yes...forgot about the 3Gs having the bed light and switch....or some of them anyway.

But on the G2s the instructions have you wire it up in such a way that the bed lights come on when the interior light comes on....either by turning on the dome light or opening a door. Silly IMO.

Could you put a switch in the bed some where, so you don't have to get in the cab to turn on lights? Or would you need to turn on the truck for power?

You can wire them however you want, you can put a switch somewhere, you can put a door switch so that it lights when you open the hatch. If you dont want to turn on the truck for power you can always wire them to a unswitched 12v supply and have them turn on by switch.

On the 3rd gens the bed light is up on the tail light on the cab. I wanted to confirm the wire in the PDF is the same one. I'd prefer to use the factory switch so both bed lights (top tail light, and new rear bed lights) come on at the same time. With a cover on the bed, those top bed lights don't do much.

That is the way I have it, if you follow the instructions you should be fine.

As I mentioned earlier....be sure to print the templates as "actual size" or whatever equivalent your printer option is. If the outline of the light on the template does not match the size if the actual light....it's not been printed correctly

Installed on my 2017 last night, not hard, but patience when running the wiring along the frame is key and perhaps your favorite beverage. Also note the instructions call for the ground tap on the drivers side say to tap the white wire with blank , .... there are at least 10 of those wires all together , I just ended up putting it under the ground screw in that same location.

OK trying to find the right connector with the light green wire there are several connector. I think it's on the top rear block bottom one about the 4th wire in, the instruction pictures are crappy.

It's just above the black connector, the only one you see with a light green wire in the middle #14 I believe
