That's great. So you think 4.88s will be enough for my 2.7 5 speed?? Sorry for all the questions but it looks like your truck is very similar to what mine is gonna be besides the different sized tires. Also, how close are you to your cab mount? Assuming you chopped that as well

I'm actually leaning towards the 5.29. The thing is... I can't seem to find a 5.29 gears for my front end? Does anyone make them?

I got my kit plus FOX DSC coilovers from a dude a CL for $2000 total lol. Waaaaay too good of a deal to pass up so that's the main reason I went that route. If I had to buy everything brand new I probably would go with a TC 3.5" kit.

But for what my kit is, I love it!!

Yes I think the 4.88's will be good. Don't apologize man, I'm happy to answer any questions I can. What's good about the LT kit, is that the lower arms push the wheels an inch forward so you can get even further off the cab mount. I have a good amount of space with a pretty aggressive CMC. I cut it back pretty far. Into the circle part.

Come to think of it, don't think anyone does make 5.29's for your front end. You could call ECGS and ask them if they have a lead on where you might be able to get 5.29's

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that this week. I've also heard that 5.29s are weaker that 4.88s? Is there any truth to that?

You got it. Yes, it's because of the amount of teeth on the ring and pinion. 4.88's have more contact points (39 teeth Ring and 8 teeth pinion) as opposed to 5.29's (37 teeth Ring and 7 teeth pinion)

Essentially the more contact points, the stronger the actual ring and pinion is. At least that's how I understand it.

Makes sense. The more teeth the better distributed the stress is on the gears. Thanks for the help man. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow.

Exactly. Not a problem. If you call ECGS, ask for Chase. He's super knowledgeable, nice, and helpful.

Will do. Hopefully he can find me some 5.29s. I'm starting to think that 4.88s won't be enough.
